> Mashima managed to make a better, more entertaining sci-fi manga than Kishi > Eden's Zero is also selling way better than Samurai 8 and it had none of the push that the latter had > Samurai 8 gets axed > In turn, Kubo gets a new serialization > What's gotta sting more is that people are still mad about Naruto and want Kishi to fail hard
Kishimoto one of the greats getting trounced by a literal copycat (Mashima) and a hack (Kubo). That's gotta sting. I guess he just proved himself to be a one hit wonder.
He made millions of dollars. He can wipe away the tears with $100 bills and then wipe his ass with another one.
Keep seething.
Carter Thomas
He made a great mistake by assuming that he didn't need editorial guiding, and we don't know if Kubo won't fail like him. If Kishi learns from his mistakes, he might make a come back.
Nicholas Cox
Irrelevant. Mashima also made mllions of dollars and you know what's funny? That hack managed to make a sci-fi shounen that works way better than Kishi is currently doing. Eden's Zero is nothing special at all, but he somehow managed to make a way more interesting sci-fi setting and with way better characters
Eden's Zero worst selling volume did almost the same sales in 3 days that Samurai 8 did in 3 weeks
You say that, but Mashitma himself would change his joke of a career for Kishitmoto's with his eyes closed. Kishimoto is ultimately much richer and recognized within the industry than Mashima, you see.
Logan Ramirez
>compares him to Kubo >despite the fucking fact Naruto was finished 6 years ago at the same time Bleach was canceled due to dwindling sales Don't bring Kubo into this shit because he's had it much worse while Naruto was still on the run.
Brody Miller
Kishi doesn't even know what Scifi is. He thinks it mean techno-babble about the science of everything but scifi is all about exploding new ideas and technology. Fantasy make you awe at the extraordinary while Scifi make you awe at the mundane. Then he and his fans blame people for too stupid to understand his genius.
Gabriel Torres
I noticed that it's rare for WSJ mangaka to have back-to-back successes on the magazine where they tend to fizzle out after a big hit. Magazine and Sunday seem to have more prolific people churning out reasonably popular new titles in comparison.
Cameron Brown
I ain't seething though. Pretty sure I don't hate Kishi. Mostly just confused how come the man who created one of the most popular shonen manga made a flop. Nice projection tho, probably a defense mechanism cos S8 is getting axed next week :)
We'll see. I sure hope Kishi learns from his mistakes and will come back with a new series that will sell. I always saw Kishi in the same vein as I am seeing George Lucas as a writer; wild creativity with reckless ambition the more creative control you give him without good executors making a compromise between what he wants and what his audience wants.
Because compare to other magazine WSJ is super competitive and on principle treat all series the same no matter who is the author while other magazine keep a closer relationship to authors that help them success.
Daniel Jenkins
Of course it has to be a huntard.
Keep hiatusing bro.
Jacob Thomas
>Bleach was canceled due to dwindling sales >Source: my ass
Logan Peterson
>Bleach was canceled You shouldn't lie on the internet user.
Jaxon Jenkins
>> In turn, Kubo gets a new serialization All according to Keikaku.
>stop seething >no i am not seething! >look at this anime girl face, it's laughing! lol
Samuel Miller
The ending was rushed and the sales were bad. It wasn't even being featured in the covers anymore.
And I was talking about the Anime you fucking retards.
Caleb Wright
I remember someone said that S8 will make Kishi not just an one hit wonder like Toriyama. It was a good laugh.
William Taylor
Wait, did he already reveal whatever it was going to be told in AnimeJapan before it got cancelled?
James Gonzalez
Kubo was sick since 2011, got hospitalized more than once during the last arc, needed a critical shoulder surgery and was told to stop by the doctors. That's why they made the novel series expanding upon the ending and plot points of the last arc.
As for the anime, they didn't have any canon material available to adapt when it finished FB arc and Shueisha waited for the old liscence to expire to give it to Aniplex as revealed back in January.
No but it will be revealed in the leaks by Wednesday.
Jaxon Rodriguez
>Kishimoto one of the greats lol
William Gutierrez
I guess there's something to look forward to now that my country is shut down.
Adrian Powell
>emoji >pedoposting >trying to defend a dead manga from a guy that can't draw and gives no fuck about his fanbase.
Here's a (you), hopefully you wont kill yourself today.
Jacob Gutierrez
Hellsing is an interesting anime, there's lots of interesting scenes, especially when the Germans arrive at London. It's sort of like a 3 pronged you're fucked moment.
Sebastian Robinson
>implying Kishi isnt a copycat hack himself
Parker Cox
Kubo is richer than Kishi tho
Brody Bailey
>there's an actual S8 fan in the thread holy shit I thought all you fags got laughed off the board
>Mashima managed to make a better, more entertaining sci-fi manga than Kishi
Eden's Zero? Better? More entertaining? As if that was a high bar to begin with.
>Eden's Zero is also selling way better than Samurai 8 and it had none of the push that the latter had
Eden's Zero is literally hopping off of Fairy Tail's dick though
Eli Ramirez
Just wait till S8 get canceled. Then Kishi fans will said that it was a masterpiece and everyone else were too stupid to understand it genius
Kayden Russell
And Squid 8 is so bad that it can't even hop off Naruto dick.
Jason Carter
>normies you're one of them, but in denial
Hudson Russell
kek s8 virgins have nothing NOTHING to point out because nothing is good about s8
Asher Sullivan
You don't even need to be a huntertard to notice Kishi's early HxH ugly copypasta. >Sasuke = Kurapika + Killua >Itachi = Illumi >The Third Hokage = Netero >Orochimaru = Hisoka >Akatsuki = The Phantom Troupe
Robert Walker
s8 fans have cute girls in real life, because they're not incels
Aiden Howard
They're both bad, is what i'm getting at. There are no winners here.
Adam Price
no s8 is just shit
Lincoln Turner
> Can't win an argument so you have to resolve in calling people incels BHAHAHAHAHA
Daniel Ortiz
One atleast fun to read so S8 still worse.
Jason Robinson
cut that deep, huh? your incel posts don't faze me
Juan Hill
You can stop now bro. At least try to come up something to talk about S8
Luke Torres
here's a topic: how much better is S8 compared to fairy gay
opening argument: so much better
Connor Mitchell
Does S8 well written: No Does FT well written: No Does S8 fun to read: No Does FT fun to read: Yes SO FT win
Cooper Smith
Does FT have samurai: no Does S8 have samurai: yes Does FT have video games: no Does S8 have video games: yes Does FT have cool cats: no, just a gay one Does S8 have cool cats: yeah, the coolest
clear win for S8
Kayden Parker
> Samurai that misses the entire point of samurai sword fighting > Kishi use video game appeal to "fellow kids" and isekaitard > Cool cat: Yeah no
Benjamin Miller
the point of samurai sword fighting is too look cool the manga was written for kids, why wouldn't he try to appeal to them, are you 30? why are you reading kids manga cat is cool
Ryder Sullivan
It doesn't take a literary genius to see that none of these characters match up. HxH didn't invent villain organizations, family conflict, or heads of organizations. That's not even explaining how different the roles of each of these characters play.
Ryan Cooper
money can't bulletproof you from criticism
Brayden Sanders
You need help if that's what you got from reading both mangas.
Aaron Stewart
The point of samurai sword fight is to end the fight in 1 strike. I hit in and you done. Giving them immortality mean taking away the stake. > The manga was written for kids Just because it written for kids doesn't excuse the bad writting. Also you think kids would bother to read boring exposition. Kishi don't know what Scifi mean, it mean more than just spaceship, boring terminology and laser.
Kevin Gonzalez
>Just because it written for kids doesn't excuse the bad writting yes it does, otherwise you wouldn't defend FT all it needs to be is entertaining some kids like to read gay one piece doujin, some kids like to read gay star war samurai doujin
if kids don't read exposition, why is one piece so popular, every arc has charts and bar graphs explaining detail that doesn't matter
Kevin Robinson
>the manga was written for kids, why wouldn't he try to appeal to them Well, it looks like they aren't reading it.
William Flores
You don't know that, they might be reading it in secret because of bullies like OP. Imagine trying to talk with your friends on the school yard about your favorite sci-fi samurai manga and some 30year old manchild comes and screams at you about sales numbers
Connor Martin
Yes it can if you don't give a shit in first place.
Blake Gomez
You’re more of a hack than Kubo will ever be
Dominic Reyes
I don't defend FT, i just said FT is more fun to read, it more entertaining and easy on the eyes than S8 clusterfuck In essence OP is an adventure story. There a sense of wonder in exploding new place, meeting new characters. Show, don't tell. OP does have ton of words but there also ton of wonder scene that can speak for itself. Kishi inability to pad out the exposition and pride are the problem here. Doesn't OP start with the explaining every system and terminology? No. It only give simple rules like DF give super power but you can't swim. Then after the readers have feel invested about the characters then it give out the rest through out their adventure. Kishi want to show this world of his so much he forgot to make the readers invest in the story or the characters.
Carson Davis
>they might be reading it in secret because of bullies like OP. What? Are they burying it in a library or just reading it in a shop and not buying it?
Jeremiah Morales
She might never regain the sales numbers Magi had for Shonen Sunday but Shinobu Ohtaka is doing fine on Shonen Magazine
Luis Cruz
I've heard Kishimoto is going to reboot S8. Any truth to this?
Jose Reed
But Toriyama has Dr Slump and DB.
Luke Hall
Nobody cares about Slump.
Blake Butler
That what i was laughing at. According to that guy those didn't count cause they aren't as well-know as DB in the west.
Ethan Rivera
Let me just drop the act for a second, I can't pretend to be a S8 fan this entire time.
Don't you think that S8's failure was kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy? You said it yourself that people had some gripes about Naruto's writing toward the end. This just plays into the whole exposition problem. People wanted it to fail, it wasn't well received from the very beginning and Kishi had no other choice but to cram as much shit into the beginning as possible to get at least the gist of the story out. What would you have done in his situation, in a competitive magazine like WSJ?
Regardless of editors, he shouldn't have let himself get talked into doing it weekly again. Kishi isn't even the first, Watsuki also failed with his follow up to Kenshin 20 years ago. People put all the blame on Kishi but Shusheia is just as much at fault here as him, and not even because of the marketing push Yas Forums likes to meme about.
Well Mashima actually knows what the audience wants, which is big tits and fat ass and buff guys and nest setpieces. Depth and nuance be damned, I want my popcorn manga.
Kishi has none of that, and got Fire Force's brother to draw his flop cause flopping it himself would be too much work.
Jaxon Thompson
I mean... you could just plan the story out before publishing anything.
Ryder Gomez
According to Kishi, he did. But if you get your potential chapter count gutted from the start, all the planning goes out of the window.
