ID:Invaded

Hey this show is pretty good.
And the dub is too.

I don't know about dub but the show is indeed good

I agree

Where's there a dub?
And I doubt it will ever be as good at "Wow! Cool!"

Yeah I watched the first episode subbed and the second episode dubbed and decided to watch the rest in english since the voices are good and this girl's voice is almost ASMR worthy with headphones on.

I'll fucking kill you m8

>dub
no

Fuck off.

No it isn't

Would have watched it in English if I had known from the start but I'm too used to the Japanese voices, but I checked it out and it's indeed just as good as the Japanese voices.

One thing the English thing misses is the suspense every time to know what honorific the next brilliant detective is going to use for Kaeru; they're running out now.

I did not expected Uraido to just use none at all, because his external personality always speaks in diehard polite speech.

How does it feel to be completely insecure about what your peers think of you?

Yeah, this seems like the kind of superficial anime that dubfags would love.

>superficial anime

Why are there two threads for this?

What a superficial watcher, judging only by the cover of the book.

>Soikaido

>dub

I'm judging by the characters being bland and the story being meaningless.

Because OP is a retarded dubfag.

too bad you're wrong

Attached: pretentious.png (1920x1080, 1.77M)

you mean it wasn't stereotype infested and meandering around for 12 episodes? I can get that fix anywhere else. I always welcome these sort of shows - even better that it's an original.

>you mean it wasn't stereotype infested and meandering around for 12 episodes?
It's extemely stereotypical and it didn't get to any substantial point once before I dropped it. Sorry, but it is among the worst offenders in that regard.
Let me ask you: What is it about? And, no, I don't mean plotpoints. I'm asking for themes. What does this anime mean?

>pretentious.png
Indeed, this one is about as pretentious as Death Note.

t.shonenfag

The series is extremely straightforward though, it's nowhere near pretentious. And most anime are meaningless, this one at least manages to be entertaining

>What are its themes?
>It's pretentious.
Ok pseud.

doing crime to prevent more crime is bad

>it didn't catch my interest in my short attention span of 3 seconds so it's shit
Ok.
Good job baiting 5 retards by the way

>Good job baiting 5 retards by the way
Not baiting, and I did give it four episodes to catch my interest. I usually like slow films as well, but this series sadly didn't have a point to its slowness.

>doing crime to prevent more crime is bad
Well, sorry, but if that's the whole message, it's not exactly deep or rewarding.

>Ok pseud.
See. No themes.

>it's nowhere near pretentious.
It becomes pretentious when its fans pretend that it's the greatest thing ever and cannot argue for why that is. Practically nothing is ever pretentious on its own.
>most anime are meaningless, this one at least manages to be entertaining
Many anime are. But I'd argue that a majority of anime is written in a manner that provides some kind of meaning.
As for this one being entertaining: For me that depends mostly on whether I can connect with any of the characters or get something intellectually stimulating from the narrative. And that just wasn't the case here.

>t.shonenfag
Not at all. Now that I think about it, ID:Invaded is very much like a shounen in those aspects: No themes and flat characters.

>It becomes pretentious when its fans pretend that it's the greatest thing ever and cannot argue for why that is.
Ah... I see, you're delusional.

very pretentious post

Okay, anons. Now, do you care to actually give an answer or argument or do you just want to play games here?

>Many anime are. But I'd argue that a majority of anime is written in a manner that provides some kind of meaning.
>a majority
Here's your answer We're liking it for what it is, an entertaining show.

>double 7
Pretentious sevenfag, fuck off. The show is entertaining and the characters are fun. The wells always have cool gimmicks too.

>We're liking it for what it is, an entertaining show.
Which is fine, I guess. I'm just stating that I didn't find it entertaining. I wish I did. Do you think I went into it, knowing nothing about it, determined to not enjoy it?

I usually don't come to these threads either. What prompted me was OP's ridiculous dubfagging. But now that I'm here, I see no reason not to calmly state what I disliked and maybe hope anyone in here would be able to give me a different perspective that would make me appreciate it for something. Sadly, all I got was outright dismissal and childish insults. Which probably only confirmed my opinion on it.

What a pretentious post.

>Yeah, this seems like the kind of superficial anime that dubfags would love.
You asked for it.

>another pretentious 7

>You asked for it.
Maybe. But I stand by calling it superficial, because that is pretty much how I see it, and what many of you who like it have confirmed: It's meaningless. It's about nothing. That's what being superficial means.
Even though I was a bit more poignant about it than I needed to be. But that's just how I react to dubfags baiting.

Yes it is superficial/meaningless and it is not pretentious (not even by your definition). Nobody ever stated that it was the best show. You must have a hard time finding anime to watch if you can't appreciate anything that does not have some kind of hidden meaning though. They're definitely not a majority.

>7
>Dub
Pottery.

>Nobody ever stated that it was the best show.
And I didn't state it was the worst. I did see people stating it was the best anime of the season or such things before though in unrelated threads. But that doesn't matter too much in here.

>You must have a hard time finding anime to watch
Not really. I usually find one or two per season that I consider worth watching. And there's always older anime I haven't seen yet.
Furthermore, as I've said before, I do also enjoy anime that have characters I can empathize with, not only those with deep meaning.

I don't like it. It lacks focus, the characters are bland and barely explored, the story is nonsensical and asspullish.
I'm still at episode 10 and I'd bet my left testicle the explanation and the villain's motivation are going to be one giant convoluted mess, lol the girl dies forever and her entire existance is pure suffering because reasons.
And I don't see why they'd expect me to give a fuck about MC's generic sob story when the series is choke full of suffering, some far worse than his (and he at least got to have his revenge)?
I'd like more focus on some other characters, like Hondomachi, her partner or the chief guy who got arrested, I want to give a fuck about them but I feel I just wasn't given an opportunity to. ID is just trying to do way too much with way too many characters for a single cour show, the story they were going for is not bad, but it needed a 2 cours at least.

Strawmanning much? I never said that shounen can't have that. I said that, in general, shounen tends not to have that. There definitely are exceptions.
>Watch more anime

Maybe you're the one who should get the fuck off Yas Forums.

You didn't give any arguments either just said its pretentious which is wrong

>You didn't give any arguments either
Read the fucking thread.

You actully might be fucking retarded

More non-arguments. Great.
Reminds me of how One Piece's fans "defend" their shit.

You are the one who's pretentious tho

Ok 3chads, we found a pretentious 7fag here.

You didn't bring any meaningful arguments tho, just called it pretentious and meaningless which are both wrong, so one piece is great it has a great world building and fun characters

Attached: trophy4u.png (300x381, 95.35K)

Also dub is good please continue your seethe

>just called it pretentious and meaningless which are both wrong
Even people who like it have in here agree that it's meaningless. And not one single poster has brought forward a good refutation (one has tried).
And I did mention extensively how I find the characters bland. Someone else has broguht forward the same criticism. That you conveniently ignore.
>so one piece is great it has a great world building and fun characters
And there we have it: You guys are OPfags. Should have guessed that these two things share a fanbase, with how utterly shallow both of them are.

>Also dub is good
You are just trying to be a parody of the worst of the worst this board has to offer, right?

Let me ask you something different then:
Did Madoka have meaning?

>Did Madoka have meaning?
I don't consider it particularly deep, as many of its fans do, but I do think that yes, in all of its edgyness, the notion of dedication and sacrifice for a cause had at least some meaning, as does the futility, or maybe value, depending on your perspective, of fighting.
I do, however, also say that Madoka went the long way around when it comes to conveying its themes, pads things out too much and revels too much in its shock value to be really effective as a narrative piece of art, thus becoming more of a genre parody than anything else. It was pretty competent with how it depicted its characters, which was ultimately its saving grace.
It also had considerably better pacing than most other anime, for what it's worth. Leagues better pacing than ID:Invaded.

Did the Monogatari series have meaning?

Attached: 1401501138910.png (1920x1080, 243.22K)

Why is this show so popular among Westerners, and why is it so unpopular in Japan?

it is popular in japan though.

>7
Yeah that checks out

Hahahaha holy fuck this retard

>Did the Monogatari series have meaning?
Not really. At least judging from the parts I've seen. It's more of a comedic series and of course fapbait. Again, the character writing provides the entertainment value here.

May I ask where you're going with this? Are you planning to ask me the same thing about every anime ever made, that I might or might not have seen and/or liked? Was my answer about Madoka not to your liking or why do you have to go off on further tangents? If you have a point, make it. If you just want to jump from anime to anime, forget it. I'm not in the mood to entertain that kind of child's play.

Friendly reminder that when someone calls an anime pretentious they actually mean it's really good. I have yet to be proven wrong, even Ergo Proxy was decent.

>thus becoming more of a genre parody than anything else
>genre parody
Nice. You don't know what you're talking about.

>even Ergo Proxy was decent.
You've just proven yourself wrong.

>You don't know what you're talking about.
More than you do, apparently. Yes, over the top violence and questioning of what mahou shoujo in general and battle mahou shoujo in particular stand for is what a genre parody would do.
Feel free to offer counterpoints. I doubt you're capable of doing that though, as you have so far failed to counter any other point made in this thread.

I'm talking about official definition. Not one the community made up. You see, I take meaning very seriously.

>official definition.
Care to provide that, moron? As well as your source for it being "official"?

>If you just want to jump from anime to anime, forget it.
Was about to do that, please make a thread where we ask you, meaning user.

Attached: shittastefag.gif (500x280, 773.29K)

This is already that thread. If you've not noticed. There's another thread for ID:Invaded up. This one's just a thread where anyone can come in and reply to someone who's always going to pay you off for giving them a (YOU).
