Grimgar

Will there ever be an Isekai as comfy as Grimgar? It's so different than all the other Isekai that I can't believe we didn't have a 2nd season.

Probably not, isekai is mostly focused on MC and his sidekicks rather than parties.
A second season would be good, but I don't think it would be decent past that. The LN really shit the bed later on.

It was good but not at all comfy.
Judging by the LN spoilers, S2 would be even less comfy.

i miss you bros

We're still here bro

It sucks because a season 2 would be legendary with the content they have to work with in volume 3

Good times

Grimgar was comfy because of the slice of life vibe in how they recovered after their "adventures". And volumes 3, 4, 5 have enough of that.

Bro vol 12 is pure comf

I like danganronpa threads better in that year

Does Yume live?

Maybe

>merry finally comes to the realization that she is desperately in love with haruhiro
>promptly dies
felt like screaming when i read that volume not gonna lie

>O MY COMFY ANIME
It was boring as shit, nothing happened, everyone moved at the speed of a fucking snail, the fucking healer dying came out of nowhere just to use the "there is real danger" card that amounted to nothing.

Shit adaptation, just go straight for the novel.

novelfag here, it was actually a pretty solid adaptation, contractually obliged per-episode insert song slideshows notwithstanding. the slow pace is literally just how it's written, there's a lot more exploration of character dynamics than action, and it's not everyone's cup of tea

Is Shihoru genuinely attracted to Kuzaku or is she lusting over his body because of Parano?

none of them weaers helmet or any other shit, enjoy getting fucked the first day.
the guys such a manlet, no wonder had troubles with a fucking goblin.

What's going in the novels now? Any new casualties?

>everyone moved at the speed of a fucking snail
>there is real danger
That's the whole fucking point, they are just trying to survive

Mahou Tensei, whoever they have animating the backgrounds is making it passable by my high standards. You may feel it's typical MC wank but character growth exists like in Grimgar.

I liked how there was weight to their movements and attacks, they were all struggling to kill a goblin considering none of them ever held a sword before and were given limited training. I just don't get that they were a days' walk from goblins? That aspect of the world didn't make sense.
I guess people didn't understand that there was real risk in this iseaky.

Novels were even more boring and retarded.

why do people seem mad that merry won?

>none of them weaers helmet or any other shit
They do wear helmets and some armor when fighting, atleast Ranta and Kuzaku do
>the guys such a manlet, no wonder had troubles with a fucking goblin.
It benefits them when going against larger shit like Orcs, Orangutans and Wyverns

>I just don't get that they were a days' walk from goblins? That aspect of the world didn't make sense.
It wasn't explained in the anime but basically that abandoned town is actually the outskirts of a much larger city, they were literally hunting in the goblin slums where all the low class/banished goblins live

Pic related

ok, that makes a lot more sense. is the novel worth reading if you like the anime?

The fight scene where they fought against the goblin leader, his hobgoblin brute, and the two other goblin soldiers was awesomely directed, and in my opinion, the best fighting scene in anime ever. It's not a bunch of ninjas kickflipping around, or superheroes with superswordstrikes cleaving a hundred gajillion mooks apart in a single stroke in a very one-sided match.
Nope, it was 6 humans vs. 4 trained goblins. An even match with teams of equal competence. And that's what makes it so good.

It was interesting in the sense that we see the combatants struggling, but the animation isn't all that great.

It certainly is, the fight scenes and descriptions flow nicely and you don't know when any of the characters is gonna get hurt or worse, the SoL is still there and a semblance of what the main quest is.
I'd recommend you to read vol 7 or 12, they pretty much feel like standalone novels, but of course reading from vol 3 onwards will give you more info and context of the team's progression.

I wrote about direction, not animation. And even animation was good. The animation was more than adequate for the skills of said combatants. Not sluggish, not exaggerated. It was the right amount.

>that little guitar part at the end of an episode
One of the genuinely comfiest things I've ever known

I got an urge to rewatch it a few months back and was like “man, this is comfy as fuck, I wonder if it ended?” So I decided to look up ln spoilers and fuck man what the fuck.
tank dies, archer girl dies, heal girl dies but then gets revived apparently, rant “betrays” them, haruhiros love interest before he got isekai’d came through then later dies. Probably a lot more shit I forgot but man shit got bad for Haruhiro and the gang. Last thing I remember reading is they walked through a portal or something? Right? Or did I just misread it?

>remember reading is they walked through a portal or something? Right? Or did I just misread it?
They do, thet've ran into 3 portals so far in tbe LN

Thanks for the spoiler bro, I needed that

Shame that the director and character designer haven't work together since this.

do they take him to earth or are they just portals that lead to different areas of grimgar?

It was beautiful. Sadly, shows like this never get a 2nd season.

That arc where they got isekai'd again in a World with a lot of different races but not humans and think they'll probably live in that alien world forever

The city they are based from is humanity's outpost on the frontier with the other hostile races.

grimgar was STALKER comfy. A depressing, bleak and hostile world that makes the comfy moments interspersed more comfy by contrast.

Different worlds that don't follow the physics of Grimgar. Some magic doesn't work in one of those for instance.

It was shit though. LNs aren't any better either.

whats going on here?

> archer girl dies
No she doesn't. I though she just left to train

Rest in Peace for that elderly artist that colored all the gorgeous backgrounds.

Any spoilers about what's going on in the latest LN volumes? Last I heard, Ranta left the group, and then Yume also left the group as well.

Well shit. Is it close to ending?
I hope I’m wrong, it’s been awhile since I read the spoilers.

>grimgar
>comfy
what the fuck am i reading

Yeah, the Backgrounds were Godly. Too bad the studio that made them got bankrupt or dead

kuzaku dies

Haven't encountered another isekai where the protag(s) are just normal people unprepared for the harsh reality of fantasy living. Even Log Horizon lets them use their game abilities (and does well with that).

>he doesn't get it
user, I...

how can it be comfy when you are aware that other than mc all main cast can realistically die at any moment
ah you must be a filthy secondary

>Of the 8 original and new members of the party, 3 are dead and 2 just fucked off
god damn

>he's still a kid that doesn't find the comfy in the little gimps of heaven amid the harshness of life
heh

>comfy
Anything but since the suffering started.
Is Merry still dead, getting raped or something else at that?

Grimgar user? I miss you too.

was Kuzaku the guy from the old world who introduced them to Merry? I remember in the LN he was described as a "playboy type", if you know who I'm referring to

Spoil us good user.

Which anime is this?

filthy secondary

Wait the same person did Cancer and Steve Jobs?

>>Well shit. Is it close to ending?
I have no idea. I'm on volume 12 out of the 17 released thus far. The last four volumes I read (8 to 12) haven't really progressed the story.

Kuzaku is a paladin that substitutes the big guy that dies in volume 3.

ranta is unironically a living legend
