Im not an expert when it comes to love in shows for 5 year olds but from what I've seen ships never become 100% canon. Like, they give you some shipping moments here and there that are enough to deduce they'll become a couple in the end. HG animation looks as mediocre as Star Twinkle. Hugtto also had some really bad looking episodes but it had good ones more regularly

Only Precures I've seen so far are Hugtto and Star Twinkle. Hugtto was heavy in the romance department while in ST it was non existant so its hard to say how this franchise usually handles romance.
