The arc that ruined One Piece forever
The arc that ruined One Piece forever
This but unironically. I literally dropped One Piece after reading through this shit. No idea what happened to Oda, but he's clearly lost it, somehow.
Good thing we got the redemption arc right afterwards

The Fishman Island -> Punk Hazard -> Dressrosa triple whammy was what made me give up on OP
Agreed. I dropped One Piss after Dressrosa cause the way Doffy was treated was a disgrace. He's bar none the only salvagable character this series has ever spawned.
Feels like no long-running shonen ever manages to make it all the way through without going to shit somewhere. I'm enjoying My Hero Academia right now but it's just a matter of time. It's on borrowed time.
Rumor has it that they are on their third "Oda".
Wano has the exact same problems as Dressrosa but worse. Nobody cares about these literal whos or wanking Oden for the 20th chapter in a row
Hahaha, good one.
But seriously, what the fuck happened?
One piece s still really good. dressrosa was fine.
week to week shitters just couldn't handle the pacing.
It already started with Punk Hazard by ruining Smoker and Tashigi.
That's not Sabaody .
>week to week shitters just couldn't handle the pacing.
This cope again. I read the whole thing in one go and it was still easily the most miserable arc in One Piece.
>it's good when you speed read and gloss over most of the shit
Oh, the irony.
No it's not. It's still 100 fucking chapters long and most ofthem are spent on literal whos nobody cares about
No one's talking about speed reading. in fact reading weekly can make you forget things that happened like ten chapters ago or make the back to back moments less impactful. reading it all in one go makes for a more consistent experience.
reading dressarosa is fine, watching it is cancer even by the anime's standards
timeskip ruined OP
t. Fight fag
Maybe, but I didn't notice it until Dressarosa
The only part that drags is when the gladiators are trying to reach the royal palace and one by one stay behind to fight one of Doffy's goons.
the anime or manga
they cucked bellamy sooo hard
Dressrosa was full of fights retard
The flashback to Luffy's previously unknown but super important 2nd adoptive brother was worse.
And then Sabo got Ace's fruit instead of the fighting bull eating it while no one was looking for comedy (as a call back to Luffy and his devil fruit).
But it wasn’t one on one Chopper Vs Evil Doctor man that spics like you want
The main problem with One Piece is it's too fucking long and Oda has health problems. He could die one day and One Piece will be unfinished.
>think dressrosa is bloated shit while reading it
>actually realise that the time spent on side characters was totally necessary because they're a part of the fleet moving forward
>arc jumps from mediocre to great
It's not the arc, it's the anime adaptation with its godawful pacing and 5 minute recaps.
While I did drop the anime at the end of this arc, I picked up the manga and stopped reading after Big Mom.
bruh
mha started off shit
and then it got worse
Both
>muh fleet
Who gives a shit? You apologists are insufferable.
The absolute pleb of (You)
no,it could certainly have been done better but it is certainly not the worst. Thriller bark still thwe worst arc
>Who gives a shit?
Why wouldn't you give a shit?
>the fleet
No, whole cake island killed it
he fell for the family meme. Having a woman and a child has to be taking up all the no-life he was putting into his masterpiece. Couple this with the fact that he's a discovery writer working with an outline for a series that was supposed to last 4 years and now is over 5x that much at the halfway point, he's running out of ideas, following a very formulaic approach for story arcs, and OP now feels creatively bankrupt compared to what it was before.
I was watching the Skypiea recap and there were so many name drops, histories, connections being made and hints being dropped. The momentum on all that shit dropped since the timeskip
Yeah, what about it?
>Manga only faggots pissed because they don't know how things are going to turn on 5 chapters from now.
Keep bitching. All of you. Its all meaning. keep at it. See you next week and the month after that and the next week after that.
exactly
They'll come to Wano and will also play a role in the final battle. You ADDfags need to chill
No, Fishman Island did.
Wow, it sure was worth spending 80 chapters on a fleet that will maybe appear again in 4 pages tops in the final battle
Here
plus if you just watch anime only that's another problem. most ep have half the episode filler
There is simply no fucking way an author can write such long stories on a weekly basis without fucking up somewhere.
And nobody will care
>I don't care so nobody else will
Not him, but you're coping for a shit arc with some pretty minuscule justifications.
I dropped it at this arc
>the fleet will be minuscule
Within the context of the story the fleet is integral to Luffy's success
This was good for 10 episodes when it had the good animation staff
Afterwords it became typical one piece
You don't understand, oda always hinted at this for years! He showed 3 Sake cups! What do you mean killing off a popular character is bad?
That was confy KINO.
>watching the anime
Thriller Bark's good. Hogback, Absalom and Perona were shit but Moria's genuinely one of the better One Piece villains and it's an arc with a bunch of great moments. Honestly I think any arc where another member joins the crew automatically gets a free pass based on how that has a permanent effect on the rest of the series
Worth like 65% of it, yeah. Some of them are bitches but a lot of his fleeties are cool characters that are worth it.
Whole Cake >>>> Dressrosa > Punk Hazard > Thriller Bark > Fishman
Whole Cake was lame. Boring melodrama between Sanji and his family, Big Mom's crew were made to look pretty incompetent across the board (along with Big Mom herself), the entire escape was a slog and Luffy's win against Katakuri didn't feel earned
It was a hot mess but it had to be, it's redeemed by its best parts
>pre-Sabo tournament with Chinjao, Cavendish etc.
>formation of the Grand Fleet
>Law flashback
>Gatz surprise MVP moment
>Senor Pink
>the toys being freed
>Usopp CoO
Why
It was honestly a great change of tone after Enies Lobby, I unironically love Thriller Bark
Plus Gear 4th reveal, Fujitora, Bartolomeo and Cavendish, Sengoku and Law's surprisingly heartfelt exchange
Moria was alright but there were so many shit parts, the pacing was awful. Perona wasn't GOOD but her vs. Usopp was.
Of course they looked incompetent. It was a series of sneak attacks and betrayals. It's the first pirate-ish arc in the whole series with the stock standard Luffy punching a million miles above his level.
Sanji's plot was pretty fucking terrible but the scale of it being Mom's army vs. alliance vs. dupes across a her whole sea of islands was fucking great.
this, but I didn't drop OP. I hjsut drop the weekly readings, and now I read it only when an arc is over. I found Big Mama very enjoyable thanks to this choice.
remove the kid and it becomes better
If your problem with the whole thing is that Ace died and not that Sabo was put into the story to effectively replace him you have brain damage
Ahem.
Hunter x Hunter.
I think he's talking about currently being published shounen
