They dragged this out to the point of boredom. The point was made from the start. The kid has all the money but he can't get Iwabe to sell him his most valuable card. Kid doesn't know the true meaning of value. Boruto and co. annoyed by the kid for a good 5 minutes. Again, just because it was in the manga doesn't mean it's good. The Mujina thing was barely important in this episode.

I think it's good. It makes sense that society would progress at an accelerated rate after Naruto and they already had techy stuff in Naruto either way. Like gas and that rain village looked crazy.
It also does more to make Boruto as a series stand out from Naruto, and that can only be a good thing.
