Because the ending is inconclusive.
It doesn't help that the novels for Oregairu are trash and I detest them. They read like pretentious and pseudo-intellectual papers that I used to proof-read in philosophy. Watari’s prose is unnecessarily flowery and makes the act of reading and comprehending hard. Oregairu isn't complicated nor difficult to understand. He just writes his shit extremely obtusely and almost purposely trying for the sake of perception of this being “advanced.” Vagueness isn’t depth and it irritates me. I couldn't make it past volume 4.
It doesn't help that Hachiman ended up with Yukino, the one girl who is arguably the LEAST likely to have a stable and healthy relationship. Don't get me wrong, I love Yukino as a character, I just don't see her as the best choice of life-Long companion for Hachiman
Why do you and other people keep saying this shit? As early as volume 1, Hachiman and Yukino had something special. Other characters took noticed almost immediately, even as both of them denied it.
I wish WW made the heroines have a stronger jealous streak.
They're both too anti-social to maintain a relationship. And besides, In a successful relationship, both partners are equal, yet Yukino is the dominant one while Hachiman is subservient. Not really a healthy relationship.

This goes beyond the (You)s. They legitimately see Yukino as a bad match for Hachiman. And their reason is always the same. They're too similar and that's bad. I just can't wrap my head around that.

Hachiman and Yukino always end up misunderstanding and miscommunicating with each other. It's even more ridiculous after the Christmas event where they both say they will attempt to fix that, but they don't. Volume 12, and 13 proved that. I have no reason whatsoever to believe that they fixed that issue.

Volume 14 still sold well, and they're still pumping out lewd merchandise for Oregairu. Still feels like he prolonged it for way too long (4 fucking years).

I'm looking forward to the HachiYuki scenes in season 3. I hope that studio feel does a much better job than they did with season 2.
