Well on the plus side it gave Tiamat something.

The action scenes were fine, thought the CGI was shoddy. Its like no one bothered to check what the interns were up to.
The worst part of this episode was the directing. The scenes felt like they were done out of order by different departments and hastily stitched together.

In the game, Nega-Genesis has the opposite effect, it works against servants and the living, which is why Gil coming back from Kur was the trump card to finish her.

They changed it to contrive Guda into the spotlight for the finale, but then tried to contrive in the KH buying you time against the lahmu scene even though it no longer made sense.

>Fujimaru for some reason was given a random dagger by Gilgamesh and was tasked with zerg rushing Tiamat to kill her
>KH for some reason was EATING the mobs
>Fujimaru bestowed the concept of death on Tiamat by talking with her

I really liked it. It was a sweet way of letting us see Tiamat's inner thoughts that worked better than the dream did imo. Also I think it's fitting that it was the last living human to say goodbye like that, it was kind of sweet in it's own way.

I also think you're slightly misinterpreting it. Tiamat is disappearing during their conversation, I think that happened after she was hit and it's her consciousness connecting them again while she's fading away.

Stage did it better, the best change was to have Kingu scene moved to Kur, so he chained down Tiamat in the climax rather than a throwaway shitty scene, so Gilgamesh could finish her.

The issues were, like everything else in this show, technical. They have a gorgeous series of impact frames but they didn't linger on them long enough to be discernible, so the impact is lost. The storyboarding was weird and nonsensical, there was a weird frame pacing that made some things too fact and lingered on other, ugly shots for longer than necessary. The whole thing was just messy, like amateur editing messy.
