After a hectic night, things have never been the same for the great Shinemon Nitta. The story now moves 10 years into the future. What will fate bring to the once great man

>once great man
What did he even do? What was the point of this story
Set things up for later and give us the story of the character who was in the background for every major event in the show
I squeeled when Kumi and Tokoha appeared on screen.
All I need is Am and Luna to appear and this mini arc will be the best part of this reboot
I like how the roles are switched here, where Mikuru is the one thirsting for Shin
to bad we have to wait till full v g
Anyone else find it interesting that the Vanguard Association is still in the works?
It might mean the V:G arc will take place while the cast is in highschool so we'll already have a somewhat experienced Chrono instead of noob prodigy
I didn't think about that you're right. But that just means the G arc will shorter then we can get original content sooner.
The season after IF is airing in January/February 2021
They're probably going to go for a full year of heavily altered G.
I wouldn't even mind keeping the V series setting for works with different casts with how much it's being fleshed out
How do you guys like this new Chrono? Too early to make a decision?
I never liked Chrono. So him having a new voice doesn't really matter to me.
So far he's as good as any v version of a character
I was mostly talking about the altered characterization
I'm so glad we got to see Gastille Arte it's been 3000 years!!! He suddenly disappeared in G: Z and appeared only in the final extra episode just in background. I'm also glad that Kanzaki beat Shinemon! World Champ HYPE
Too plain and boring. I liked when Chrono was the Judai of Vanguard. His voice is also depressed but that fits for his current personality.
Praise be to GYZE
Wonder when he'll meet up with Ruga
Shin losing to Kanzaki is really just the depressing cherry on top of everything.
What was the point of everything he had worked for up until that moment?
In a single night, the protagonist failed at all of their goals and built up a fake personality to hide the depression
Because this is Eastern story-telling and there are more important things than if the battle was won.
There are more important things than winning the battle, sure
But what of everything else? He came out of his hero's journey worse off than before and nothing really to show for it outside of being open the one day Aichi got his deck stolen
Also what was the gag with nobody remembering Shin? It just seems weird to me that even Ryuzu played along.
Outside of green hair and glasses, current Shin is nothing like SHINEMON.
He's unrecognizable and lost the energy and fire he once had
EXACTLY
From V > Shin > V-G
it was really well done for this show it patched itself so much over the year
Thats what happens when you just dont care anymore when you lose a close friend you just let yourself go
I think a large part of it is that Itou clearly has a vision on where to take Vanguard now and Bushiroad is giving him creative control
Too early, but so far I'm liking what I'm looking at. Wonder if Shion, Tokoha and Cumi will be get any lines.
Glad I decided to watch the original G before the reboot came out since it looks like it will be quite different.
Fun fact
The bully from this episode is the same one as the first episode in G
So, they got Yuga to voice Chrono?
So we're not doing G yet right? First an arc about Miyano-kun then that?
Correct
Not Ibuki, but Emi
It's both of them
Something tells me IF will also explain how the Gear Chronicle deck ended up in the locker
STOP BEING DEAD ALL THE TIME
Anyone else prefer adult Shin over teen Shin?
He's a better mentor than fiery shonen protagonist
I can see it being a quest from Nome or rive again
I like adult Shin more after seeing how and why he's the way he is
He's just a lot more relatable and it's fun to see him traverse the stressors of everyday life as the shop manager. And he's a cool older guy who learned valuable lessons from his glory days.
Yuck
Chrono's new voice is pretty good. Doesn't sound too different.
Definitely adult, but teen Shin was just as necessary imo. As somebody who was full Shinfag and wanted him to get another drop of relevance since the original, Shinemon was a fucking treat every episode through. Yeah sure it has the same faults as most of v-series in general but giving Shin, Mark and the rest of the backdrop gang this much unnecessary development (besides Rive who got literally nothing) was everything I asked for and more. Can't wait to see what else they give him in v-series G.
Holy one of best designs of this franchise. I just love looking at him. He is... Perfect.
They did a lot for Rive's character by showing much more of his relationship with the rest of the cast.
>Esuka still isn't married
>Probably in her 40s now
Yikes
It just felt really thin when you look at how much everybody else got. Mark solidifies himself as the best bro character in the entire franchise yes entire franchise, and Mikuru not so much outside of some comic relief and the equivalent to a Yugioh exposition sideline but it was a good window into what she was like before she turned into Chronomommy. Oh and loli Misaki was pretty cute. Rive felt a lot more energetic and characterized during the earlier parts but I feel like he would've gotten a better sendoff if he kept it up even after the Ryuzu parts started.
I agree that he lost too much energy but similarly to Tatsuya, he lost the person in his life that kept him grounded. It's harder to be fun when you're the only adult in the room now having to raise a kid. We saw in the previous episode that he seriously considered throwing his life away to revive Tokimi. He's a father, not a parent much like Mikuru is just an aunt.
>Tatsuya just fucks off to America with his new mommy and works on Cray research
>Don't even bother wasting screentime on him
Lmao, even the show realizes how pointless of a character he was
I can agree to that, loss is a pretty big theme towards the end of Shinemon. Having to watch Shin's fire snuffed out by Kanzaki during the replay was pretty hard to watch but it makes for some fucking good prologue storytelling. Hoping we get to see more of a muted, reserved v-Shin next episode.
I think he'll try to force out the Shinemon personality one last time while both Kamui and Mark call him out on it
>Have to wait another 6 weeks for IF.
>No new info.
Suffering
doesn't look like it in the preview, he seems chill as fuck
Get a hobby.
The ship tease was adorable when they were younger, but now it's just unironically sad given the fact that their going into their 40's soon. They're going to die alone aren't they?
I have other hobbies but Vanguard is the only thing that gets me excited right now.
>40s
Shin is in his early 30s and Mikuru is her late 20s
Play CFA from your WuFlu bunker.
CFA is a huge time sink and I don't want to get addicted to it. It's happened to me in the past which is why I strictly play in person now. Might go to locals tomorrow if my shop is open.
It will at least help you get your fix if your locals is closed. Just try to do it in moderation.
There's also the Bushiroad Remote Fight server if you want to play with people over webcam
Has anybody actually tried that yet?
How awkward is it?
I haven't tried it yet but from what Weiss players have said, it's not that awkward as long as you have your camera exclusively on your cards
It's not that I need a fix for the card game, I just really REALLY want to see what the next arc is all about. It's the craziest thing to ever happen to the anime imo. Lately I've been more invested in the anime than the game anyways.
That would require a stand or something and not the best way. It has to show the hand too. Even then cheating would be easier than irl. And if you wonder who would cheat, there are always people.
I like shin overall fuck you
It is by far the craziest shift for the anime so far, but I like that they're exploring how far they can go with the current cast
Now I just need a weird roadtrip season where Asaka and Kai are trying to find Ren and bond along the way
