Sartorius arc was too over-extended. While he was a fun character by himself, his lackeys were generic.
But technically yeah, it had the most high points. And God tier soundtrack too.

It was a really bizarre show. And shit load of references to older anime once you go digging deeper. Like Evangelion, Devilman, Guyver, Marvel & DC, Kamen Rider. Prince of Tennis, etc.
And every character felt interesting and like his own person, unlike later seasons or the og.
It is amazing they managed to pull it off.
I don't get how people can praise DM while GX was all around a better show.

Season 3 basically became an Isekai + suicide squad, and gave us the most hype duels in the entire franchise. Shit was amazing.

Asuka is trash now with no dignity left to her character. Only thing she is good for is porn and that's it. I miss when she was a competent duelist who was serious about her studies and ambitions in becoming a pro duelist than being a jobber that would rather take a backseat in the dueling world than be involved with a thing for a gay kid.
Also 5D's girls are way more attractive than Asuka by a long shot. 5D's has Aki, Carly, Misty, Mikage, Sherry and some other whores with good designs.

Are you confusing Arc V Asuka with GX Asuka? Those are entirely different characters.
And even in GX she was never such a Jobber and won duels on screen (and off-screen). Admittedly the anime underutilized her character and potential, but it was nowhere near what happened in 5D's to Aki and Carly.

No i'm not. Off screen dues never count as what you do see is what counts. Story telling 101 show not tell. They showed her fighting folder but never anyone of great importance. The only plot relevant duel she gotten that was decent was against Titan. Other than that, she became a joke and thrown under the bus multiple times.

I think I can relate. I honestly don't remember my very first waifu but I was so obsessed with her and even today she's one of my favorites waifus. One of my biggest disappointment was her Arc V version, was so hyped about that.
