It's the only way to make Ai relevant again, make her related to some of the cast that Gosho overshadowed her for.

What I take away from this page is less plot and more that Gosho can still input his horniness into the manga when he wants to. I thought they told him to cut that out as times changed but I guess he couldn't help drawing two women kissing and calling it plot.

I prefer Shiratori x Megure. Speaking of, I watched the second movie recently and I'm wondering how Megure and Shiratori both got a license to carry if they're terrible with firearms.

In some cases it's trailer atmosphere voice overs, to get across Shinichi/Conan is the hero of the story. Unless he's trying to demonstrate a presence of Shinichi in this movie I doubt she's even saying that, or Haibara. Don't forget stuff like this.

Especially since he doesn't seem to have enough creative ideas for meeting as children love at first sight things. I guess they've all been fine at worst but if you're going to make it like every relationship you should make some really standout ones to mask how everyone is falling into that trope. There was a slight twist to Shiratori and Sato at least, but I worry that just leaves it open for Takagi to have met Sato when he was younger and just not remember it until some random thing reminds him.

And the worst of it is that Gosho is deliberately dumbing her down and ruining her character. Why would a genius scientist prodgy not know what is a drinking bird ? Why did he turn her into a basic tsundere wetting her pants over football players ?

The drinking bird thing is so simple I feel like maybe he just got used to writing the kids and made her dumb on accident. I mean the kids have already lost some of their little quirks and become "those kids" so Haibara is lucky she hasn't fully been absorbed into their group.

Yes these are back when Aoyama would drop hints that Ai had a thing for Conan, even unknowingly relating that kind of thing between them she had something. She also told him as recently as the school trip arc not to get intimate with Ran and showed signs of fluster.
