Every synopsis and summary of this series always talks about it being about some weirdo girl trying to help a dude out of his Hiki-NEET way, the moment his nerdy best friend gets introduced into the story it stops being about Hiki-NEETs and starts being about traumas in general, that one Hiki-NEET brother is nothing more but just a way of tying the Pyramid Scheme Lady's issues to the main casts and isn't the main focus at any point, getting a piss poor and unrealistic resolution

The story is of a person coming out of his cocoon. He had locked himself away from society and the glasses for his world view were weird.

But ultimately the idea that someone can do nothing there whole life and expect tohers to take care of them for their needs is greedy and selfish.

It would make sense if Misaki is ugly but she is not.

This can be said about any piece of art since it is subjective you can't objectively pin a message you interpreted, unless the author says so too. This is all speculation. In reality it could just be a story that was told with no real message behind it.
