Her manga armour is fantastic. Feminine and hot and makes me want to rip it off her. The fake-looking tits on the other one are stupid
>Thigh high leather boots
Of course I like it.
>right
She's gonna shatter her sternum.
What is that tittyarmor model from?
>those proportions on right leg+arm, that torso
Oh nonnononoonoonnoonnonoonno looks like Miura has to go back to /beg/ on /ic/.
>left one
>someone tries to stab her in the chest
>sword moves to the side and glances off of her, since she has an effective breastplate
>right one
>someone tries to stab her
>sides on the breast lumps force the point into the center of her chest, causing the sword to impale her heart
Both are pretty terrible but the manga one is better.
This is better armor.
>sides on the breast lumps force the point into the center of her chest, causing the sword to impale her heart
That's just a Yas Forums meme there is male armor with fake muscles too. It's just not necessary because medieval breastplates were arched and had enough space for even the biggest boobs.
Swords can't penetrate plate armor like that.
I don't know where this breast plate bad meme comes from.
swords can penetrate weak points in plate
designing breasts on a breastplate is basically adding two big weakpoints on the plate at a pretty critical area
I don't see how breasts could be made solid enough to resist a fully powered thrust with a heavy sword. Increasing the thickness won't do much if the protruding parts weaken the entire design
Also the best way to get crushed boobs if this part comes into contact with a blunt weapon
Only non completely retarded way to do boob armor is to just have the breasts be added to a full breastplate as decoration, and not have them protect any actual body part.
true, DEX > STR
>causing the sword to impale her heart
The bigger problem is that most blows will connect, causing blunt damage or allowing a attacker to have leverage on hit.
A stray arrow hitting would feel like a gut punch, as oppose to sliding away.
>swords can penetrate weak points in plate
>heard that swords would be aimed for 'weak points', didn't understand this referred to unarmored joints and other such holes.
>"no guys really you can stab through the titty plates if you have a heavy sword, I'm an expert"
Stop.
This is simply false. Swords can used to stab into gaps between plates, but under no circumstances could they ever stab through a tempered steel breastplate, no matter the type of blade or strength of the wielder.
Swords don't go through armor like that. If you knew what you were talking about, you'd know they'd be more likely to deflect upwards and hit the neck, which is difficult to armor. But you don't.
Mostly internet white knights.
Even the left one isn't domed like it should be. Not only does she look flat chested, but her armor is also ineffective in that one. Literally unreadable.
How do you soldily fix the breasts to the plate?
Shitty 16th century soldering?
This shit will get knocked off first serious blow it takes, not memeing in the slightest.
>no padding under cuirass
>plate bewbs (not that it would be much of a problem, but it's not realistic)
>no leg protection
>no helmet
>overly thick crossguard on the in-game sword
It looks stylish and believable, but it has troubles with realism. Still, I wish there would be more manga and anime with such attempts at making believable armor and weaponry.
There's no fixing, you dipshit. It's forged. You dish them on an anvil.
What do you mean? It's all the same plate.
Is there even a manga/anime with realistic armor?
Berserk musou game i think
You can do much worse than Berserk's armor. What is everyone complaining about?
>Left
apex of 15th century male german fashion
>right
lazy boobplate
Plenty of background and minor characters armor in Berserk are heavily based, if not straight copied, on real life armors.
>Yas Forums talking about armor
Ow my brain
>What is everyone complaining about?
Gee, I don't know, maybe because it isn't realistic like the post pretty directly states.
>isn't realistic
Like the retards who say you can penetrate plate armor with a sword?
Skalagrim diaper fetishist-tier internet medievalists jumping on the "boob armour" bandwagon because in the last 10 years it's apparently became a reactionary opinion to call the throw-away fantasy titty armour designed by dumb nerds half a century ago sexist and impractical, as if we didn't already know.
>if not straight copied
found the one that i was looking for.
>Like the retards who say you can penetrate plate armor with a sword?
I'm not even sure what sort of a strawman you're trying to make and why it is directed to me here.
The armor isn't the problem but the fact that they wear their decorative full plate armor casually every day. Why people would complain about that in a fantasy manga is a different story.
Gambesons would be more practical but they don't look cool in drawings.
You're the only one seething here
But I'm seething too
...
Not that guy but boob armor is the pineapple pizza of fantasy nerds. It's such a stupid thing to constantly complain about.
Junketsu no Maria
This armor used to be blue as fuck. IMAGINE.
The armor is fine, I just don't like Casca, she's a cunt to Guts because Griffith likes him better than her, then uses him as rebound when Griffith rejects her, then has him drag her retarded ass through the entire world searching for a cure to her trauma, and then rejects him after he fianlly gets her cured.
She's a bitch, Guts is best off just abandoning her ass and fucking either Farnese or Schierke.
Cheap armor is best armor
How do you actually color armour? All I can think of is either painting over the metal or using a dyed lacquer, and I'm pretty sure medieval Europe didn't have lacquer.
Mix in alloys or gemstones.
It was an oil quench reheat process that turned the metal a bright metalic blue, combined with the gold it must have been amazing to see. It also made the armor near bullet proof. It was expensive as fuck too.
That armour would have been far from cheap.
While the orignal must have been amazing, I like that faded colour look. If there was a touch more blue, it would be perfect.
Wouldn't expect her to use such an unconventional plate, where you can't even bend over. Most of the armors in fantasy are going way too low anyways and thus hindering any sort of agile movement.
>No Padding or helmet,
She has both
>leg protection
Leather was a perfectly adequate protection when you couldn't afford plate.
>Crossguard
Outside of Guts' embellished memories of her, Casca always used no-nonsense weapons.
>Leather was a perfectly adequate protection when you couldn't afford plate.
Those are leather tigh-highs, not leather armor.
>Outside of Guts' embellished memories of her, Casca always used no-nonsense weapons.
I agree, manga version of Casca has reasonable swords. But that in-game sword has overly thicc crosguard, unnecessarily thicc
Reminder for the faggot full-plate naysers.
>b-but knights are dumb what if they fall over lmao
>they had to be winched onto their horses LOL
fags

double reminder;
If you have a spare +/-$9k lying around you can get some autiste blacksmiths to forge a custom set of full plate for yourself. I know what I'll be doing with any spare pennies I find in the couch shove them up my anus
Cheap armor would be the gambeson, not lorica segmentata
>Realism
>Berserk
See the falling over thing I can sort of understand. Being knocked down, specifically if you were thrown down can wind you pretty bad. I imagine that isn't pleasant in full plate armour. Unless the armour actually reduces some of that impact, I wouldn't realy know, haven't got my own suit unfortunately.
It definitely helps. The armor spreads out any sharp impact and the padding underneath absorbs some of the fall.
So in a 1 on 1 fight plate's weakness are being smashed in the head with a hammer or being stabbed in the exposed bits?
Armbar too.
You got it, boss. That's why in the later periods when manufacturing was better and plate armor was more widespread you start to see more of the weird polearms with spikes and hammerheads. Two hands on the weapon means you can put more force behind the blow, and a spike could penetrate armor or a hammer could concuss or knock down. The War of the Roses in England had a ton of great examples of weapons designed to beat armor.
Thanks for the video. The talk is informative, the armor looks great in blue, and they wear peak academia dress style.
That video was clearly done in front of a green screen, you can clearly notice the 3D model.
It's not real armor like pic
Cheaper
