I read the doujin without keeрing the main manga in mind and I don't care why the author was hired or something like that. Each and every medium could be interesting in itself.

I'm not really the shitpost/troll guy but if you find that doujin interesting then you're better off reading something like bokuben and kanokari. I dropped those series in less than 3 chapters but I'd rather read those two than that doujin

Ugly colors, bad designs, mediocre directing overall, no creativity whatsoever besides some random flourishes here and there. How did you come to that conclusion? Do you think anything that's not "realistic" is ugly for me? Mob Psycho has much better color design than the Kaguya anime, to name a similar example. And the best colors I've seen recently in TV anime are from Luluco, although there might be something else but I don't watch many shows anymore.

The typical youtube commenter response. Things can't be good or bad based on their own merits, no, it always has to be some bias from the person giving the opinion no matter what they say. TV shows in the last couple of years have been horrid, which is why more and more of the competent studios are trying to move to film, because the industry is gradually becoming unable to accommodate for TV schedules and the results are plain to see. Just think about the simple fact that the best stuff in recent years is actually CG anime like HnK or Beastars, despite how ridiculous that would have sounded just 5 years ago. That's because they largely sidestep a lot of production problems associated with normal TV shows.

I don't know what "competent studios" you're talking about and I haven't heard any big studios that completely converted to films rather than weekly TV series but if you say so, then fine. I can't really judge much in the art genre or some shits.

I find it quite the opposite. It has nice if not great directing overall with some shitty scenes here and there. This is something that I really think a lot of people will agree with me. You're better of saying that the original story wasn't that great from the start since it's mostly true. The first parts of Kaguya was interesting and nice at best which gets a lot better after the fireworks arc.

The anime complimented well the tone of the manga. No eyecatching panels screaming in your face "This is the heroine being cute, please like her".
After BakaTest and Nisekoi did it, it became a fucking staple and I hate it.

I liked the anime too, but this is definitely false.

Why wouldn't you want overly cute panels when the main appeal of the manga is how cute it is? I'd rather have them screaming in my face proficiently than just failing to evoke any reaction out of blandness.

One example randomly chosen, pic related. The anime is FILLED with extremely bland shots and poorly drawn art like this, it's absolutely everywhere outside of a very limited amount of scenes (Prez practicing volleyball, Kaguya crying below the stairs in the finale, and I can't remember much else).

Look how plain the camerawork is, how bad the background props look, how deformed the designs are (and no, it's not an inbetween frame), the lack of expression in their faces, the lack of any sort of directed lighting. Add to that the shitty musical cues that were overused to hell in the show and the basic bitch anime VA work.

Again, this picture is supposed to be a particular case of something that plagues the show, I won't do a fucking essay. And of course there are scenes with more attention paid to them (Hatakeyama storyboarded episodes are better in general) but they aren't enough to overcome the general feeling of the show.

This is why manga is so much easier to swallow in general. Anime just has too many elements overstimulating the viewer, thus so many more things that can be done poorly and bring the whole down. Manga is only art, paneling and dialogue so it's such a smoother experience even when it's comparatively unremarkable (vs great manga) in the same way the anime is (vs great anime).

Ok I get your point. I said right form the start that I'm no expert on these art shits so I can't really say anything. Still, the lack of expression, at least on kaguya's side is deliberate. She's supposed to be a lady of some sorts so she try as much as possible to look like one in front of others aside from close friends. Also from what I can tell, only the lighting is bad. Repeating frames or similar frames is quite normal at least in the past decade, nothing new there. While I can find deformed faces here and there, it's not so numerous from what I can tell especially compared to the recent anime. You didn't deny earlier that you find old anime more appealing but I at least know that having QUALITY in some scenes is something that old anime is quite infamous of. How is modern anime getting shitted on for something that's almost impossible to get rid off?

Almost happened in the main series when everybody read a manga and became lovesick and Ishigami was competing with Shirogane for Kaguya's attention and she was in doubt of wich one she should choose.
