It was my first fansubbed anime not watched on VHS, goddamn that was nearly 20 years ago
>You've all watched the best romantic anime of all time right?
Yes, I have.
>Kitsune best girl
Are you sure?
>The violent tsundere wins
Pure garbage.
>Pure hearted innocent Naru
>Gets flustered and embarrassed at discussion of emotions
>Playfully hits MC
>Tsundere
Same.
I bought pirated CDs full of fansubs from ebay back in 2003
I tried it twice but its so cringe I dropped it both times. Seen like 8 eps.
>Boring typical japanese princess who does kendo
>Not slutty big breasted fox girl
Shit taste user
I still have the manga. Su is the best.
I can still hear the OP.
OP is actually not a faggot for a change.
>joke character with zero development
>Pure hearted innocent Naru
>lusts after a guy twice her age
>projects that lust onto Keitaro
>playfully hits the MC
>"playfully"
I own the second art book (the one that image comes from) and have it signed by the character designer of the show.
ken akamatsu has a small dick
>Su is the best
Did Su popularise the brown loli trope?
I wish he thought having a mc who is interested enough to try lewd things with the girls was a better idea.
Best grill. Stuck in an era where ara girls were the butt of every joke. It took about a decade for that to change.
If you don't like Love Hina you don't like anime.
Yep watched it several times, recently watched it over christmas/ new years. It has it's moments, not bad all in all.
SUperior
“Romantic” animes are trash. completely unrealistic
>whoa, a perfect 10/10 girl fell from the sky into my lap and is inlove with me! And everyone else in class loves me too?! Lucky me!
That's why the best romance shows are the ones who don't use that cliche. And usually mix romance with another genre.
That's her brother user
Honest question to people who like this: there are like a shit ton of these harems. Do you guys keep watching them and this continues to be one of the best? Because it felt generic as hell.
Isn't this just nostalgia?
Yeah, I know.
>hey user, you have eaten tons of these apples, why do you keep eating them, you shouldn't enjoy them
It was fun.
I don't even like this shit anymore but...
Remake fucking when?
It's been almost 20 years.
Goddamn I'd fuck the everliving shit out of Naru.
One of the hottest manga/anime girls EVER!!!
Why would you want a remake? THere were hundreds of Love Hina clones between 2000 and 2010. And the one that did Love Hina's story the best was a Hentai manga.
Don't mind me just being the best romcom anime and manga ever
Manga re-translation and Bluray remaster FUCKING WHEN?
Because Noslagia is a bitch(that and the first anime sucked).
Naru best girl and winner
Problem is that show turned into filler 1/3 through. It had an amazing start and I loved it. But it can't be called the best when it falls apart. Just like Kare Kano.
>Mitsune had a Southern Accent in the Dub
Holy fuck the English Dub was bad
youtube.com
>best romantic anime
HAHAHAHA, no.
It is however the most iconic harem of all time, i say its a must watch to everyone simply because of how much of a complete staple for years to come it was.
What's that harem manga where the MC analyses the shit out of the girls in a split second or some bullshit like that? IIRC there was something about someone with the bullet-train breasts. I can't find it, but Love Hina reminded me of it for some reason
>Problem is that show turned into filler 1/3 through
That's not true actually.
There's only 2 filler arcs(Sana's Dad arc and the New York arc)
The rest is all canon with a few filler/anime original episodes here and there(which most of them are at least enjoyable).
It's not like Kare Kano since Kodocha actually covers most of the manga's story(with the exception of the final arc)
LH wasn't my first animu but was my first exposure to doujinshi. I spilled gallons of goo to Shinobu winning the bowl.
>Generic as hell
It was one of the original harems of the golden age.
Every other harem feels generic because they're clones with varying levels of incest.
your wife is a wannabe whore
LH was not my first anime but was the first manga I read entirely. Shit was so cash.
what do you expect user? violent bitches always won before, danderes started to win until naruto finished
>any girl but naru is best girl
are you happy with this Yas Forums?
I know it came first and so later ones would be able to improve over it, but how does it stack up things like Toradora and Golden Time?
I never actually watched Love Hina.
*compared to things like
Missed an important word.
>generic as hell
>while posting idolshit
It's ecchi romcom harem but always obvious and clear who will win
Not as good as Toradora, but still a fun watch
Why only her?
Pseudo-Asuka rip off. Just like any of Ken's/Cuvie's main girls.
If you end up liking the main guy/girl the most, then you'll like Love Hina a lot. Since they're the focus 90% of the time. If you end up liking one of the other characters more, then it'll be frustrating. Because they're just gag side characters and barely get any screen time. You might as well just watch something like Kimagure Orange Road if you want the standard "love triangle but one girl is obviously the winner" story Love Hina did. Or you can watch dozens of other better shows which actively subvert or do the opposite of the Love Hina formula.
she is an akane rip-off user, dont insult asuka with this bland cunt
Akane is just a Shinobu clone. And the trope goes back farther and farther until you reach 1940s American movies. And then to books before that. Naru and Tsun girls as a whole are as old as the written word. Literally, there's examples in Greek plays.
What's Su based off of? Originally, I thought the California blonde surfer cheerleader type.
>shinobu = akane
I think we are not talking about the same bitch
kk, thanks anons. I may as well give it a shot.
I honestly don't know because Su is one of the first characters of her type I noticed in anime. Which there were a ton of clones that followed. I guess you could say Yuffie in Final Fantasy VII did that type first. Which means there's probably other earlier examples I can't remember.
Takahashi has said she originally wanted Shinobu to win in Urusei Yatsura. That got overridden when Lum became the most popular manga character ever (up to that point) and she had to start focusing the manga on her. She started writing Ranma with Akane as the clear focus from the start, so another character couldn't take it over. Which caused a lot of people to get angry. But the point is, Ranma with a focus on Akane is what she wanted Urusei Yatsura to be.
Shinobu and Akane also share tons of traits. Great physical strength, short tempers, short hair, cute and feminine in normal everyday life but turn into Tsun bitches around the MC, etc.
>Isn't this just nostalgia?
For me it pretty much is.
I think that's the way it is for a lot of people.
Love Hina was our entryway into this degeneracy.
Su was based off of, at least in looks, pic related. As for attitude, and to a degree looks, Ed from Coyboy Bebop.
Back when Love Hina came out, I would watch basically any anime I could get my hands on. I had been watching anime for about a decade up to that point and could only watch what I could get on fansub VHS. But Love Hina was the first show I was able to access through online subs.
It wasn't until Mahoromatic and Green Green that I started dropping shows that I couldn't stand. And I haven't ever rewatched Love Hina because I didn't like it that much back when I first watched it. So I don't have nostalgia for it. I can honestly say it's a 5/10 forgettable show. The only thing I liked in the whole show was pic related.
