The story is going to go and end exactly how it’s currently being presented. The alliance will confront Eren and defeat him. Some possibly die, maybe even most of them. But in the aftermath of Eren’s defeat a “miracle of peace” will be established between Paradis and Marley/the world, despite the fact both sides were on a path of mutually assured destruction. Like Isayama foreshadowed with Kenny and Uri. If you hate the current chapters and are only pushing yourself forward in the hope of kino genocide ending, just stop now, for the sake of not wasting your time and energy. There is no salvation waiting for you at the end.

all of these themes would be realised and made manifest in the story's protagonist, a kid with his up and downs, but generally a good person, pushed to global genocide
by shattering the illusion that murder is only justified when you're killing metaphorical or literal "monsters", the reader is taken to a greater level of maturity alongside the main characters, as they learn to understand just how heavy the price of freedom and peace truly is
if eren does win, it might very well be that future generations of eldians will grow to despise him, and think of him as a monster. But, just like the readers, it's easy for them to judge when they live in comfort and peace, without a constant looming threat over their paradise. Because their freedom, or any kind of freedom, is always a product of rivers of blood

I think that at this point, Jean was not resolved to join the Alliance. He was just willing to hear them out. He wanted to leave Floch unscathed so he had options if he ended up not convinced. Cutting the head off of the snake would probably put someone even more extreme and unintelligent in charge of watching the people of Paradis without anyone left to minimize chaos for the civilians (someone like that monster looking dude)
Also, I won't be surprised if he goes to negotiate/surprise attack Floch next chapter under the pretense that he escaped from Pieck. Floch has no concrete reason to distrust Jean, besides him missing Boyega, but Jean could explain that as him being drunk. He knows Mikasa is a traitor to him though.

See, even in the Uprising arc, I wouldn't say that anyone would side with the actual genocide of most of humanity. I don't think the cast would be willing to murder the entire government. They went about it as peacefully as they possibly could have, killing only those who attacked them directly and went for their lives. And even then, it was their last resort, their only option. If we applied the same criteria to the current scenario, they would at most be willing to go after military bases as a last resort, while the optimal solution would be peaceful negotiations. They would only attack confirmed immediate direct threats. Hange and the rest being opposed to mass genocide remains consistent with this. They don't want to kill every last potential danger in the world until nothing remains. They want to peacefully coexist. Their ideal situation was in the timeskip where they could avoid violence and let the world slowly see that they weren't a threat.

I used to be a big EH fag, but after the Ymir chapters I think she provides all the personal motivation Eren needs, so I'm not as aggressive for it.
