If you wish to refute it, describe a problem in its execution. He provided a situation where someone used what you said & devil's advocate playing to automatically BTFO a side. Because we would say this isn't the case, there's a problem with one of the premises, namely yours. What's wrong with a valid argument?

No? Who says what? The above is just a blind denial, which according to the before would be refuted because it provided no evidence.
Secondly, that isn't even Hitchen's Razor, which says DISMISSED, not refuted. Finally, Hitchen's Razor isn't some respected argumentative method taught in academia. Rather, it's scoffed there. People ask it what it means by evidence while noting the differences in evidence standards across fields of study as well as numerous other problems. In other words, it's a bad form of argument.
