I honestly thought Slow Start was going to go the subversive route and delve into the abuse of power the teacher wielded over the students along with how Eiko was seemingly aware and genuinely enthusiastic about the teacher's actions. It was just a strangely low key pretty dramatic scene, total change of colour pallet and tone. It was like the director was totally acknowledging how divorced from real world ethical standards it was, along with occasional nods in that more mature direction throughout.
I'd have been fine with either that, or the sill cgdct program we ended up with, I like both.
