started watching iria on a whim and so far it's a blast. the setting alone makes it worth watching, but I'm also enjoying the story and iria is a great character. seen up to the third episode, and if the last 3 episodes don't disappoint then I could see this jumping into my top 10

recently watched this and holy fuck, I had been planning to watch it for years and finally got around to it, was fucking great. Stink Bomb is probably my favorite but Magnetic Rose is very very close. Cannon Fodder's visual style was strong and even though I didn't like it quite as much as the others, it still blew my mind how skilled Otomo is at creating a dark and suffocating short that I think was more unsettling than the first two without being obviously so

netflix doesnt have the original adv eva dub. Its cheesy but its full of soul. new eva dub has shinji's VA as a tranny, also most of the dialogue sounds kinda plain. At least they have the original japanese dub

First time I watched I just skipped Memories because it felt like a boring Alien copy. But Cannon Fodder and Stink Bomb were awesome. The highlight to me was the more funny subtle moments. And Stink Bomb definitely reminds of of a really good 80s manga that I don't remember the name of because of it art style and presentation (no, it's not Akria. I'm pretty sure it's not anything by Otomo, but it came out in the early-mid 80s)

it's not a copy of Alien at all, it maybe has the same brooding atmosphere in a space setting, but I'd give it a rewatch if that was the impression you got. it's more of a psychological thriller in the same vain as Kon's later work

Nice. Finished watching Iria a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed the ending. It's nothing crazy, but the final scene is adorable.
