>WHOA WHOA WE HAVE SPACE WARPING TECHNOLOGY EVERYWHERE BUT 90% OF OUR 40 BILLIONS POPULATION IS MADE OF TUNIC WEARING PEASANTS JUST BECAUSE ONE TYRANT IS A GERMANBOO
Name a more nonsense setting
The Empire part felt like it was a fucking different show with every aspects so outdated except for muh space ships
WHOA WHOA WE HAVE SPACE WARPING TECHNOLOGY EVERYWHERE BUT 90% OF OUR 40 BILLIONS POPULATION IS MADE OF TUNIC WEARING...
The idea of the show is history repeats itself so it's nothing extraordinary to recover things from the past, it's not like it has never happened. Also space opera.
Bad thread
>to recover things from the past,
sure to some extend, like the wave of neonazis or xenophobic, or trying to pretend being a christfag is cool
but to revert everything back like 400 years while having high tech such as them will literally change the core structure of society forever?
>you can't criticize muh favorite anime
I don't think the author was deliberately trying to go for a very realistic setting, especially given that it takes place in thousands of years, and anything we predict even a hundred years in the future is going to be completely off the mark.
I predict that we will be huge fat slobs with everything automated to fit our daily needs
Just look at murrica and you can see
It's mostly aesthetics, they still use computers and shit. I can imagine something like that happening in the future, the "futuristic" look will be so dated that everything will be designed to look like victorian England or whatever they like at the time.
Also just look at how the future was imagined for 1910's people, it was a silly steampunk mess, the same way you can't judge a future fiction just because it doesn't look like the future you think it should suppose to look from your perspective.
nah I know most of it was just aesthetic, however that's only the case for upper classes and the ruling government
the plebs live like they're in 1630 or sth
filtered
I watched it for based Yang, not the cringe niggas roleplaying noblemen
That's making an extreme assumption that efforts won't be put into place to change things.
Any prediction that relies on continuing trends is going to fail since at some point events or people will exist that cause something to change the trends.
For example, if the obesity epidemic gets bad enough, some laws will probably get put into place to ban corn syrup, or technology will be developed that can reduce a persons appetite so that they can easily stop being obese.
Technology will always radically change things, just as it was technology that caused the obesity epidemic in the first place.
Wasn't that just Westlande that we were shown to be like that?
You can't really judge 90% of the population based on one tiny undeveloped settlement.
>Technology will always radically change things, just as it was technology that caused the obesity epidemic in the first place.
exactly, and with technology like in the show there's no way they would revert back to late medieval society
I'm pretty sure whenever they showed the commoners it was like that
Is logh still popular in foreign country? In Japan, It's not so popular among young people.
Yeah, but like I said the author wasn't deliberately trying to go for realism, and my point was also that trying to go for realism isn't going to end up being realistic regardless.
To use the Obesity example again, if you had written a future story where everyone is obese, people in the future where technology has wiped out obesity would mock your failed attempt at futuristic realism, whereas LoGH was never trying to be very realistic, so most people wouldn't bother to ridicule it for something it wasn't even attempting.
The focus of the story is more about people not really changing as history repeats, so if you want to ridicule the story then use that as your basis instead.
I don't know if I'd describe it as "popular", but among seasoned anime fans it is well known.
Also the aesthetic of the empire is very appealing to those who are fans of European History, though more specifically German history.
not really, since the old show is dated and the newer one is just mediocre
UNLESS HBO or hollywood made a live action tv show so the plebs would say sth LIKE THE NEXT GOT BUT SPACE
I see. For me japanese, the story of FPA and Empire seems to a kind of SF (something far from us ).But for especially Europian It may be a tale. Which more Europians like, FPA or Empire?
What do you expect from the series where space ships use fucking Napoleon's tactic because no one told the author space is 3D.
It's a retarded soap opera that makes Star Wars/Star Trek look like 150 IQ hard sci-fi.
>Which more Europians like, FPA or Empire?
There is broad support for both
But unlike star wars, the story is actually good.
I did find it infuriating how characters would say "our retreat is cut off we're all gonna die" when they could just fly along the z axis to escape but whatever
They use 3D tactics.
Firing distanc ein the show is several light seconds. You are't going to be able to pull off any outmanuevering in a retreat that your enemies won't be able to mimic.
I'm an American who prefers the Empire much more, despite the FPA being clearly based on the US.
One of the reasons is because the corruption among the FPA feels very reminiscent of the corruption in our government.
I don't think it ever reached further than being "that one long space show" for most Anime normalfags.
Hollyjews already ruined Stargate, Star Trek and Star Wars in the past decade, so I would prefer that at least one thing I enjoy stays away from their grubby hands.
But you see in the show how normal cities are basically what we have today but everything is automated
What happened to all the nonwhite people in the Empire
FPA and Empire are basically just France and Germany. It's basically just Franco-Prussian wars but in space.
They were genocided, the survivors were made into feudal serfs and many defected to the FPA
I wanna know why they still support Empire. Did'nt they disgust their kingdom and manage to get democratic government? Of course, Mein Kaiser is the great Emperor, but his son is not always great, isn't he?
Most if not all of them emigrated to the FPA, and prior to that they were already a minority it seems.
Also it's likely Rudolf's genetics policies included them, although it wasn't specifically stated.
Not many people like the empire. Here it is different because people here are a bit strange.
It's also pretty reminiscent of Britain and the US, with the FPA being much more similar to the US than France, but the Empire being much more similar to Prussia than the UK.
Many of us are sick of Democracy and its corruption. At least the corruption of a monarchy doesn't flood your country with 3rd world savages like it does in the US and Europe.
>Did'nt they disgust their kingdom and manage to get democratic government?
Many modern day Europeans still support Monarchism.
>Of course, Mein Kaiser is the great Emperor, but his son is not always great, isn't he?
This is a known weakness of an autocratic monarchical regime, but the people who support the empire still think that the system is better than democracy, especially a democracy as flawed as the one presented by the alliance in LOGH
>FPA being much more similar to the US than France
The FPA is basically the second empire just with Napoleon III being replaced by a chairman.
>Many modern day Europeans still support Monarchism.
No we do not. A few British people support keeping the Queen as a figurehead, but that is about it. Outside of very tiny French and Spanish movements which have about 1000 people total.
>especially a democracy as flawed as the one presented by the alliance in LOGH
Especially considering that most democracies are MORE corrupt than what the FPA was shown to be.
I feel the same reminiscent of the corruption in japanese government as you. As you say, the Empire is more pleasant because we need'nt be disappointed with our leader we elected.
what does Rudolf have against perfectly healthy asian women
Japan already has the LDP though. It's almost the same.
I don't mean to offend you ....
Not so. I don't want to sound like a Yas Forumscel but most normies have been brainwashed into thinking democracy is a perfect system with 0 flaws. Those people lack critical thinking skills and cannot conceive that another political system may have advantages over democracy. I would assert that this same group of people would be unable to watch a show like LOGH because they would not find it entertaining due to the large amount of dialogue. This means that being interested in LOGH is the first place selects you as a member of a group that is naturally more sympathetic to the Empire.
They're not German, and as we see non-Germans are seemingly nonexistent in the Empire.
I'm not talking about Britain specifically dumb anglo, there are other European countries with monarchs. I am well aware that these people are the minority in each country they are in but they do exist and in greater numbers than most would think
because 95% of our politicians are more corrupt than Truniht and the cherry on top is all of them being overweight and looking like rats
>wonder what ethnic background might make someone look like a rodent
You did not! it is fine, I am just trying to say you will hear things from here you will not in other places.
>but most normies have been brainwashed into thinking democracy is a perfect system with 0 flaws.
No they haven't. Talk to your average punter and they know that a bunch of politicians are corrupt as fuck, but they'd rather that than actual aristocracy. Because we have large-scale historical trends that suggest the only system more successful than modern democracy is Leninist Vanguardism
I'm also a fan of the culture of the empire over the FPA and modern democracies.
That's right. Our government has completely corrupted.
There are fuck all Carlists, Orleanists, Legitimistes, etc.
The places that have monarchs mostly are just relics, like the Dutch, Norwegians, etc. None of which have anything even as large as the fucking Bonapartiste movement in France. Which is tiny. (The French are weird and way more monarchical than a lot, while also being more anti-monarchy, it's no surprise that Monarchical Socialism is mostly a French political thought)
>No they haven't. Talk to your average punter and they know that a bunch of politicians are corrupt as fuck,
Yes but they don't see that as a flaw of the Democratic system, just a personal flaw of the elected politicians. Many people I talk to support Democracy for no reason other than it is not Autocracy which I find poor reasoning
define "German"
Sadly, it was corrupt from the start. The Nobusuke Kishi cabinet just made sure it was the worst. (Lots of very interesting history about how members of 大政翼賛会 became LDP members)
>>WHOA WHOA WE HAVE SPACE WARPING TECHNOLOGY EVERYWHERE BUT 90% OF OUR POPULATION IS MADE OF TUNIC WEARING SANDNIGGERS JUST BECAUSE ONE TYRANT IS AN ARABOO
They stated in the show that the nobility was exclusively made up of Germans, so that already means that the entire nobility is German. Then visually we never see anyone non-white in the Empire, so it's safe to assume most of them would be of German descent as Rudolfs policies likely targeted specifically making more Germans and less non-Germans.
Oh right, to specifically answer your question it would be German speaking people of German descent.
political words but a space guy
And our now President Abe is his grandson....
Yes. The people that were in charge when the Americans came in. Took control from MacArthur. They basically kept the ww2 era government and pushed it into Democracy.
I am not surprised that Japanese people don't believe in it. Only two times has anyone really challenged them. The only other old party is 共産党 who are nice... but should change their name.
Another thing to consider for those who support the Empire is whether they support Reinhard specifically, monarchism in general, or also support Rudolf.
Personally I would support a Rudolf, but to normies he would they would see him as Hitler and to them anything related to Hitler = Bad since they lack critical thinking skills.
>Hitler = Bad since they lack critical thinking skills.
Or they just support their rational self interest. VERY few people benefit under a regime like that.
I wouldn't support a Rudolf, I could support a Reinhard with some reservations but I would absolutely support a constitutional monarch á la end of series Hildegard/Alexander
