If he got rid of all the seven deadly sins in himself...

If he got rid of all the seven deadly sins in himself, then why does he still want to become a god and obtain unlimited knowledge? Wouldn't that be classified as greed?

It's shonen, just turn off your brain.

I don't believe it ever being implied his children were literally his sins expended from his being.

I remember it being explicitly stated the homunculi were born from him purging his sins out.

this

Because FMA:B has vastly inferior characterization to FMA03

He still had a part of those sins within himself. The Homunculi were just an extension of himself.

Evidently, it was a pure and noble goal. He did nothing wrong

>just turn off your brain
how do I do this?

read shonen, duh

The point was that you can't ascend beyond humanity by removing your sins. By doing so Father merely unleashed them over the world.

Greed wasnt actually his greed. It was his desire for friendship

not to mention that he still had his pride and was jelaous of God for having power he couldn't have

rope duh

Homunculi were just based on his sins, not them entirely.

>purging all his sins aka emotions and needs
Why didn't he turn into a rock?

I hate the homunculus origins in FMAB. 03's version is WAY more interesting. Your failed creation can still be sentient and live amongst people, and with a similar appearance to your loved one as well. What's more, the original pieces of the body harm them like nothing else. It's so much better and everyone knows it.

Lust, Envy, Pride and Wrath plz leave

Still part of his greed tho. Just greed in a good way

It was really good, and tragic. But the "homunculi" definition didn't really work as well anymore, and the fact that all seven homos fit the "seven deadly sins" thing was awfully convenient

I thought it was
>even if you think you are free of those sins they are still in you.
Sloth when he was refusing to move and just nullify their attacks.
Greed when he was eating more to refill stone.
Wrath when fighting them.
Pride the whole fucking time.

It was all dumb

Yeah but he obviously didn't do it perfectly.
He's still greedy, wrathful and prideful.

And's he's literally motivated by envy the whole time.

>character does something
>he doesn't succeed perfectly
>HOW IS SUCH A THING POSSIBLE

He wanted to be a god so he can do good for everyone

Sloth didn't

he literally DIRECTLY caused millions of deaths in dozens of bloody wars throughout the years.

She wasn't physically slothful, but mentally; denying and refusing to acknowledge the truth of her existence and her children, preferring to take the easy solution and just ignore it

fma.fandom.com/wiki/Greed
See wiki, it reads "Greed is the embodiment of SOME of father's greed" some not all.

Spinoff fucking when

Just want them back

Based

I've always liked to think Greed was the one who defeated him for this very reason. Like, "i'm the only one you weren't able to get rid of, now fuck off"

by watching FMA

dont hang up on bagatels user

Why didn't Father look like the homunculi at all. He ruins the A E S T H E T I C

Just like father expelled his sins, you can expel your brain and make a homunculus

unironically

Also Father was a grave narrative mistake.

>What's more, the original pieces of the body harm them like nothing else
That was really stupid, trying to revive a real person wasn't a condition for practicing human alchemy, you could just make an artificial human being and it would be indestructible.

Because they tried to pull off some cheap melodrama

Aspiring to godhood is Pride.

Did you seriously like all that Dante and Hohenheim nonsense? Even back then when I still watched anime on TV and didn't know what manga was, it struck me as utter nonsense.

It would probably qualify as hubris

isn't it pretty much the same thing?

bump for homos

That's why Greed was his down fall in the very end.

03 > Manga >>> FMA:B

You're a retarded faggot. Manga is absolutely superior. Only the Homunculi are weaker aside from Wrath.

Yeah, 03 sucks pretty hard. Dante was so nothing, and the final few episodes were fairly drab.

03 had some great soundtracks. The music for the more serious scenes had a sorrowful somberness and mysterious ambience brotherhood didn't have (tho Brohood had the better hype music):

>youtube.com/watch?v=BXQLrkW33f0

People seem to give it shit for it but personally I loved the scene with the Zeppelins in London, I didn't find that any more stupid than any other fantasy TWEEEEST

Would have made more sense symbolically.

He didn't fully succeed.

They aren’t his actual “children” just pieces of his soul representing his emotions.

I wish he survived.

That wasn’t his point buddy.

Then why is he such a generic cartoon anime villain?

Still better than the boring edgelords villain sues that were the Brotherhood Homunculus.

That was the very premise of his question
>If he got rid of all the seven deadly sins in himself
He assumes he managed to get rid of the sins, which as he recognizes he obviously didn't manage to do.
Despite recognizing this he goes on and asks a dumb question instead of assuming the obvious.

>aside from Wrath.

Wrath was a fedora tipping edgelord who got off too easy. It’s clear that the author was favouring him and treating him as a writer’s pet.

And yet that point was never addressed in universe.

It’s pretty lousy that this was never brought up in-universe, would have wiped the condescending stoic look off his annoying face.

What's there to address?
Do you need it spelled out?
Like a scene like this
>HEY Father you asshole you say you got rid of your sins but you are still a bitch so that's proof of you failing to get rid of your sins
It's perfectly fine to just show that he has failed at it.

>the author was favouring him
I think you mistook Greed with Wrath
