Would it? If Zeke succeeded and killed Historia's unborn child, they would only have the protection of the FT and the rumbling as a deterrent for 13 more years, assuming Historia ate him. If he succeeded and the child survived, it would be 26 years. Extrapolating from real world technological progression, the outside world would then have WWII-era weaponry, up to and including atomic bombs. What would happen to a nation of middle-aged people who threatened the world into compliance for decades when the rumbling is no longer militarily competitive?

Setting aside that concern, consider what would happen in a country with no succeeding generations. It would gradually lose its workforce, the population would constantly decline, and people would be forced to abandon their homes and move to more populous areas or struggle in isolation. Eventually, farming and other industries would collapse, and there would be no one to care for the last Eldians in their infirmity. Maybe they could beg to immigrate to the mainland, or allow foreigners to take over the island in exchange for propping up their economy. To me, it doesn't seem like a very peaceful ending.
