One, Amico doesn't guestimate shipping rates so they have no idea what the actual rates will be until the item is in stock, which won't be until December at the absolute earliest (barring any delays). Two, no guarantees on the dimensions until they have them in stock to determine what they'll need for packaging. The US economy is due for a downturn and is only being kept afloat because the government is using policies that should only be used during the downturn to reduce the damages of a recession (Like reducing rates and tax cuts). The Corona virus is going to wreck havoc with productivity and just about every market and since the US is doing a particularly shitty job of handling the outbreak, the markets are spooked and the markets are going down.
If we keep on this current path, Given the current decline and the fact things are getting better in the US, I wouldn't be shocked if dollar for Yen reaches 1 for 100.

Sucks for anyone who has a lot of pre-orders in America, especially if a recession does hit in the coming months.

They're a reliable store in general, I've used them for anime and manga a lot. I made one figure purchase from them last year, I got Philena after everyone else was sold out. I wouldn't choose them over another store since they are a bit overpriced for figures, but the packaging was fine and I received it with no problems.

They're good for Native stuff and not really for older figures but if you missed out on something from the last year or so they're good. My only major gripe is that they're not good with telling you when they're actually getting the stock in so you'll have the awkward moment where a figure doesn't ship a month after you pre-ordered it.
