The animation and the music. That's about it.

spoiler alert: everything is resolved with an asspull in kimetsu

>X isn't even good except for that good part

Mostly the music desu

The Music was shit.

bump

The whole anime is based on asspulls with good animation.
It's not meant to be a masterpiece, it's meant to be entertaining, the same formula marvel uses for most of its capeshit movies.

a real good fight

Based, Bones>>Ufotable

the target audience are people who are used to shitty modern outsourced animation, 25 seconds of actual quality work is impressive to them so that they don't realize its literally just another O MY PREVIOUSLY UNMENTIONED TECHNIQUE LETS ME HIT HARDER copout

This.Fuck Demon Slayer it is as generic as it gets with caricature characters and boring plot that progresses linearly

You just answered yourself there. The great thing is the animation.
KnY exploded in popularity thanks to the anime being animated by Unlimited Budget Works, having an amazing opening sung by Lisa and Nezuko b3ing cute.

itt: seething shonenspics

What's not great about? It literally went on to sell tens of millions copies and assblasted all of the other shonenshitters after this.

The level of cope in response to this show's success is unbelievable. It ended half a year ago, get over it already.

You know most of the people that hype shit like this are underage spics or thirdworlders? I wouldnt say it is great for cattering to the lowest common denominator

It was an unexpectedly great action sequence matched with an effectively poignant song. It was one of those great shounen action moments that happens with pretty much half of all shounen action shows.

The context of the scene was a big turd. The main character got into an fucking problematic situation on the fight, and what we gonna do? He will simply breath stronger and escape, BUT besides this the animation was cool it fucked up the enjoyment that i was having but i must admit that it looks cool when you are watching just the scene from the episode without the entire fight

Why did you start a new thread instead of posting this question on the KnY one already up?

O MY ROTOSCOPED FATHER

I think it's deffinitely the song, as well.
First time I saw the scene, it was nice, but nothing else.
Just your typical "never give up" shonen thing...
Then, a few days later, I looked up the song's lyrics, because every single fucking sub I checked focused entirely on the dialogue, giving no fucks about the song.
Those lyrics hit surprisingly close.
Now I can't fucking look at the scene, without remembering the lyrics of the song, and the feelings hitting a lot harder.

Kek now this is contrarianism at its finest

UFOTABLE.

>watch your father do the dance of the fire god your whole life
>forget about it as you become a demon slayer
>remember it as your life flashes before your eyes
>it's actually a breath technique
>know the whole dance by heart and use it
yep, total ass pull

I dont know why they didnt foreshadow it before. It wasnt honestly an asspull when you consider his past and who his father was but why would they show such a flashback right before this moment? The story telling doesnt make sense in this series even if they established it before. Not only this bit but the whole progression feels so linear and bland.

In hindsight, this is the one big thing that Ufotable forgot to improve.
One little small scene of Tanjiro practicing the fucking dance, either before or after Urokodaki's training.
It could have been done in a single minute.
Maybe one and a half, tops.

kek

Having him practicing the dance at the beginning of the anime as the opening scene would have been perfect.

Yeah, it would have been fine if we knew that his family had been passing down a dance instead of finding out about it a couple seconds before he uses it. It would have been fine he he realized it was a breath technique then, but they there was no way the view could have predicted that his family would have been passing a secret technique down. Basically, it is not an asspull on paper, but its execution was pretty bad due to poor foreshadowing making it an asspull.

Lol, everyone agrees for once.

Ufotable can make anything seem better than it is. If this shit was animated by a run-of-the-mill studio it probably would've gone unnoticed and forgotten. The characters in particular are nothing to write home about. Outside of the action they're not very entertaining, except for Nezuko.

Well, I expected Yas Forums to shit on this, as the contrarians autists they are. Sure, technically speaking, its an asspull. But its basic shonen shit, so what did you expect ? "What was so great about it" why are you autists unable to parse analytically statements like that ? Even if you didn't feel anything, can you see that there is enough beauty in this scene for a lot of people to appreciate ? Even if its in style and style only ? You guys will truly never amount to anything if you cannot see life through different perspectives.

All they needed to do was this just have it mentioned before. Considering the fact that it's a weekly shonen though I find that mistake reasonable

>I need everything explained/shown beforehand otherwise I get confused therefore asspull
The absolute state of Yas Forums

>implying foreshadowing means info dump
are you stupid user?

>asspull
What do you mean?

They actually did foreshadow it. Shinobu mentions to Zenitsu that when near death the mind will search frantically for a means to survive. Tanjiro forgot about the dance then forcibly recalled it when he was about to die.

THIS, finally someone said it, the anime is pretty mediocre except for the animation and only in the fight scenes

That's only in the anime. That line is originally just narration and happens right before the flashback happens. It's an incredibly clumsy scene and the anime made it slightly less clumsy.

The bitch clearly doesn’t give a fuck. Why use tactics and foreshadowing when you can asspull the shit out of any situation?

>It's popular but I don't like it, this means it's low brow.

Get your head out of your ass.

Name a shonen that doesnt have asspull?

Yeah it’s just like Akame except that its actually watchable

Brotherhood

>O MY STONE FULL OF SOULS WHO WANT REVENGE
>O MY DOOR OF TRUTH
>O MY POWER OF FRIENDSHIP
I also enjoyed Brotherhood, but, c'mon...

>O MY
How to make sure no one takes you seriously

I actually really thought this was a good sequence. animation and music were top notch. The show is pre trash in general but this is a good high point

>they don't realize its literally just another O MY PREVIOUSLY UNMENTIONED TECHNIQUE LETS ME HIT HARDER copout
They not only realize it, they were fully expecting that to happen. A shonentard accepts such things as part of the genre.

>Shinobu mentions to Zenitsu that when near death the mind will search frantically for a means to survive.
Ah yes, the law of asspull

I dont like it because its bad.You are just too deep into your bullshit you started coping like a faggot.

03

don't degrade this to the level of marvel you heretic

You know user , sometimes this makes sense

You’re right, it’s even worse.

It's the way that the entire episode was presented as a whole. Regardless of how cliche or asspull it was, the mood is supposed to set up the idea that Tanjiro was going to save Nezuko no matter what. There's a pretty big emphasis on family bond in this entire arc because the main antagonist, Rui, is someone that doesn't value his close family so he simply takes them for granted. If you continuously build an antagonist's character that is in direct opposition to the protagonist's ideals, then you will create the biggest possible emotional impact in the climax when the protagonist prevails. In reality, the animation and music is just the cherry on top meaning that what really carries this episode is simply the ability for you to sympathize with Tanjiro's struggles so you can vicariously live the overcoming of Rui's antagonism when it's all over.

It's just simply really amazing directing and knowing how to pull strings with the audience's emotions to create the highest potential emotional reactions possible, which is basically the goal of any sort of presentation.

The first one was an asspull yeah, but the second was consistent with everything seen in the series up to that point, and Pride was the only enemy beaten through the power of friendship as opposed to actual strategy or teamwork.

KnY is unironically worse than MCU, Ufotable’s animation is the only good thing about it. The manga is a complete mess with barely readable fight scenes and asspulls in basically every fight. Not to mention every fight follows the exact same pattern with flashback problems.

I think my problem is my expectations were too high. I was expecting a fight scene on the level of something like Kurapika vs Uvogin because everyone was going nuts over episode 19. What I got instead was a typical shounen flashback power up head slice.

But that's what I get for expecting anything to match HxH. It legitimately ruined shounen for me. I have to stick to stuff like Berserk and LOTGH.

cringe

You're saying horse shit, the rld, swordsmith, UM3 and 1 were great fights and very fun to read. RLD had no flashback power up, swordsmith neither, UM3 had one and they still lost and UM1 had no flashback power up. Go hang yourself with your shitposting
