Different user, but I firmly believe it's the magazine/editors that is influencing the story's direction. Paru's Beast Complex stories and the start of the manga were solid and explored interesting concepts and internal conflicts with chatacters. But ever since the moth shit, it's been turning into a mess of a manga. It was still fun but as this story goes on it feels less and less like character and world exploration and more like shock value for the sake of being edgy and keep people reading. I hope this ends soon and she can work on her next series in a jousei magazine or even independently instead.
