If you liked Saiki Kusuo and don't mind something similar but with some of the gags replaced by chicken soup for your soul, then it's fantastic.

I just checked and the earliest Mitama could have drawn that was 15 March 1988 since that's when we first saw a taller goku.

it seems like he's meant to be late 20s or very early 30s. So well within the age range where someone would grow up watching Dragon Ball Z and not the original Dragon Ball

Frankly I don't know what to believe anymore. I assumed Jump was ready to give it a chance but nope'd outta that deal once they saw the Volume 2 sales.
My second theory is that nips actually like this series but can't be assed to buy it, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high.
Not even taking the lackluster sales into account, it ranks well and reviews are good.
Of all the recent axebait series, Mitama and Yozakura are the only ones with an almost 5 stars average for volume 1. If Shueisha is fair, they will realize that they have a diamond in the rough and that it just needs a PUSH.

Lol, I just realized Zobiro is holding Mitama back in that one part of the panel. Now this is pure gag comedy gold. Mashle and Agravity Boys could stand to learn from this
The other two aren't bad at all, just very different flavors of comedy. Mitama just has the advantage of having a very well rounded and fleshed out cast.
Mashle is actually pretty funny imo. Agravity Boys is ok but they lean too hard on the gags about Chris looking like a girl. It was funny once or twice but it's not a good enough joke to base two entire fucking chapters on

I meant of the whole past year. Outside of Mitama and Yozakura, their highest rated series was David and it's not even close to those two.

I'm noticing a trend here.
The position is unrelated to the sales, if anything we'd see the influence for that next week. The volume came out on wednesday and on thursday we got the spoilers already, obviously the issue was ready in advance though.
Even if for some reason people aren't buying the physical volumes, I hope that means they're either buying the digital volumes, or that they'll keep voting for it each week in the magazine. At the very least, hopefully Mitama could be the next Spring Weapon
