I will always give Clannad a pass on that because of After Story, and even the lights good end. Most if not all other stories just end up with the bullshit bittersweet ending and give you a finger. Clannad showed you the aftermath of such ending and then had mercy on both the protagonist and your poor soul by saving Nagisa.
