Chapter five is done
>She very nearly had a bat in her eye, yet she did not bat an eye.
>there are two accelerators now
wtf
>Waaah I'm stuck in the middle
Dumb ant.
This, she should be glad she has a power at all
This chapter was quite good and I liked the battle overall. The way the beginning child's power was described was thrilling overall and I liked that how everyone got to play a role here.
For me the battles so far in Biohacker were quite meh so props to Kamachi for coming up with this one. Mitsuari's suicidal motivations could have been better though, I get she's feeling like a victim for being stuck in the middle but I guess she's not even thinking of the level 0's and what they might feel for not having any power at all. That being said I guess struggling hard and never reaching her goal seems acceptable for a mental breakdown but nothing to do suicide over.
>steals your spin-off with a spin
>I get she's feeling like a victim for being stuck in the middle
No, she feels being stuck in this way is causing bad shit to happen to people around her.
Ayu was a 12(11?) years old sheltered ojou-sama that just got her new and shiny “one bad day”.
No shit she went coco.
Hmm...you are right. I mean she's clearly ignoring that the Matsuoka guy planned something like this taking Mental Out into the equation and she was only kidnapped because he couldn't aquire Misaki. It wasn't her fault that all of this happened but then again when people are depressed over something they feel unreasonably guilty about things that are not even their fault. Matsuoka made bad decisions, so his death is entirely on him, Mitsuari shouldn't feel guilty but her self loathing is coming because of her sense of incompetence.
Matsuo*
Its Mat/suo now
>Its Mat/ now
ftfy.
The text did say she shouldn't feel sorry for the bad guy, but remember Seria and Touma got dragged into this, and they plan to use her powers again, which may cause bad things to happen again to these people who were nice to her.
“Did you think Aleister would just sit idly by after the Beginning Child was found? If I hadn’t messed with the chain of command to delay that operation, this entire slope would have been glassed by an aluminum and iron oxide cluster bomb.”
Big brain Seria with the bogdanoff level phone calls
I guess the age bracket helps here. Mitsuari is probably 12, so having the pressure to shine can be quite self-destructive, so her putting all this effort to become a level 5 "yet never achieving it and also bringing misfortune over others which would not have happened had she been a level 0" makes sense.
>implying Aleister would cluster bomb his future husband and father of at least one daughter
Well atleast AB batshit crazy Mitsuari makes sense now.
Maybe the last chapter will change things but I don't find myself feeling much sympathy for Ayu.
Yup, now she REEEs at Misaki actively because of "Shokuhou Misaki was the best choice" and "that boy didn't save me because his phone got misplaced"
She seems more concerned about disappointing them rather than them getting hurt though.
The reason for her mental breakdown is kinda flimsy as I already stated above but I guess the age makes sense.
Check the catalog, fuckface
To put it bluntly, I don't see why she exists other than Kamachi reusing the #5's discarded design.
Yeah, people who attacked her as well as people who were nice to her, except Touma literally all of them have reminded her of Misaki's superiority at some point and I guess the fact that she struggles so much yet she never achieved level 5 but because of her partial partial success she got caught in the issue and people are showing hope because of her ability so she just doesn't want to disappoint anyone anymore.
Where's my fucking railgun episode?
I think it's fine. I mean look at the other level 4's, Kuroko, Awaki, Junko they don't actively show as much mental breakdown because they are never directly compared to any level 5. I feel it shows another perspective of an esper having struggles.
Anyway I feel it's overall better than "this boy I just met didn't save me so I commit suicide" her despair comes from her own incompetence.
>Sadako clone
Why is Haimura so overeliant on tropes?
Unironically, Haimura's best designs are the ones where he keeps things simple and/or bases a new character off a pre-existing design.
When he tries to make something complicated, you get visual diarrhea like Anna.
>Unironically, Haimura's best designs are the ones where he keeps things simple and/or bases a new character off a pre-existing design.
The squid looks great so does Othinus
Othinus is literally blonde witch #12604367
Not only was it misplaced, but it was misplaced "by Misaki".
Then Ayu got NT11’d.
Ayu-Aquaface when?
That should have been the illustration and not the beginning child. Anyway I was actually surprised that the beginning child had no relationship with Aiwass, Accelerator, Misaki or Mitsuari just with the windowless building and why it was created.
Actually I was glad. Anyway the ability was good overall, and some esper having some relationship with the first esper would have a been a cool revelation sure but a tad forced at this point.
Thats what puzzles me
The WB was originally meant to be an spacecraft, but during that era it would be too hard to come up with the concept since space exploration was just starting
Also where did its Accel reflection like properties came from if it was made before Accel was even born?
Aiwass was around so space was probably on Aleister's mind long before, and the building could have just been the isolated environment until it was restructured after Accel was studied.
The WB doesn't reflect anything though? Iirc it has shock absorbers and equipment that makes an equal and opposite effects to cancel out the impact of an external attack.
>The WB was originally meant to be an spacecraft, but during that era it would be too hard to come up with the concept since space exploration was just starting
Maybe BC could instantly make a space environment for Aiwass. The spaceship thing was before Aliester could make the artificial space he used on Touma.
>Everything worked out for the better when she was not around.
>If not for her, L.S.S. might have given up on the Beginning Child in their possession. If not for her, none of this would have happened.
Her failures can have more serious consequences as we see here. I don't think she's worried that they will go 'lol you suck' and stop being her friends.
In NT19 it was stated to be using the accelerator ability
BC and Alfar should met
So I guess like Dark May project they decided to incorporate something from his ability.
It doesn't do exactly what Accel does but it's based off his vector shit.
So they came up with the idea of WB because of the Beginning child and later decided to fortify it with an upgrade after they saw someone like Accelerator and analysed him. Probably came up with the Dark May project's idea at the same time too.
How chad could someone be to slutify a sheltered ojou in one day?
BC and Alfar are two sides of the same coin and would be absolutely fucking broken if they ever met. One adapts people to her home environment and the other adapts the environment to the person. Together they'd turn the phases back all the way until Alfar is back home, or use some half way twisted version of a creature to make some sort of hellscape.
>the illustration should have been another picture of Ayu doing nothing but looking sad rather than the Beginning Child going on a rampage
What garbage taste.
>She actually thinks Aleister didn't know and want everything to turn that way let alone interfere
That's cute
I was being sarcastic, look at the post I was replying to, it was a joke about Ayu-Aquaface.
Remind me what's the name of that district in Japan that Index bases some of its scenes on? If its not too far out of my way I might head over and check it out.
The entire SS had a lot of harem vibes so I'm not surprised.
Tachikawa, Tokyo
Tachikawa
Squid is ugly as fuck
Thanks
>Level 4s dont get compared to level 5
Pic related did and got traumatised. Still fought Mugino and died like a badass to prove it.
The one thing that doesn't make too much sense to me here is if the environment is changing due to the Beginning Child's esper power, how is it that Touma's IB has absolutely zero effect on it? Sure it shouldn't just entirely erase the whole field but it should give the immediate area around him at least some measure of safety no?
>WHOA DUDE, DID YOU SEE THAT??? KAMACHI JUST INTRODUCED [autistic chuuni shit with stupid name] HAHA SO BASED AMIRITE? I LOVE READING LITERATURE FOR JAPANESE TEENS! I LOVE RAILDEX! *heavy breathing*
There's no way that joke works both in English and Japanese right? Did js06 just see an opportunity and go for it?
WHERE WERE YOU GUYS YESTERDAY? I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONE FOR GOOD THAT TIME!!!
>Boy I sure wish Index was less interesting and used more standard powers
Anna looks great wtf
For once in their lives, people didn't force a thread when there wasn't a need for one.
He was a cocky dumbass
Anna, the squid and Salome are the ugliest designs I've ever seen outside designs meant to be ugly
What about Index?
Don't see why that's a surprise. This is the reason why Touma got hurt by the projectiles Accelerator was throwing at him, or when he felt cornered when 5.1 was going to throw a metal tsunami at him via controlling all those pieces of metal. Anything that's directly not supernatural won't be affected by IB. The things like sand and lava or ice will obviously hurt him.
>30 year old manchildren think their manchild hobby is "interesting" rather than pathetic
It's honestly hard to tell who's the bigger loser, Kamachi for writing the same story for 15 years or the grown ass men who still consume it as though they were the target audience.
It's supernatural sand created by an esper power. By your logic Mikoto's lightning should ignore IB because it's natural.
I can only think that he'd need to be touching the environment when the change reaches him. I don't recall him doing that at any point of the changes besides holding onto the tree when things started freezing, but it was the water that changed which he wasn't touching.
