The whole point of Naofumi is to self insert into a guy that gets dealt the worst possible hand so he can be comforted by a cute loli raccoon later. It's just a cheap way to hook in the viewer by trying to rush an emotional climax very early on so that it doesn't have to put much effort into writing in the later episodes.

Trying to extrapolate this into real life situations does not work.
