The story in anime is presented badly.
I don't really care about spoiled kid. I don't really feel much for golem "without feelings" and their almost generic interactions with others in first 3 episodes were not interesting.
The anime simply fails to engage me. It doesn't make me think about death, about other ethical and moral issues and situations. It's not really sad and not making me care for any characters in particular.
In fact, anime kinda said it: golem will die, Somali will probably either find new parents or grow up because of it. There is nothing else to the ending or story that was implied or presented within first hour of anime and that's pretty much it. There are no real mysteries too even though they could be easily presented.
