Damn Code Geass was my first anime. Before that the closest thing to anime I watched was W.I.T.C.H. Granny bought me some "cartoons" on the market (we still had pirate DVD stands at the time). My mind was blown.
What's best is that they were dirt cheap so my granny bought two. The second had some happy kids playing games on the cover so she decided it's a good balance for robo-violence of the first disk.
As I'd found out later the kids were from Hinamizawa. My mind was blown again.
