Why do the industry keep doing this. LN and VN adaptations 99% of the time never turn out well, you can't satisfyingly adapt a text heavy medium into animation without cutting out a shit ton of stuff. Just stick to manga, a visual medium for a visual medium works much better.

The issue you mention arises because the adaptation is meat to be a glorified commercial for the source, and so has to be super-faithful. Some things just have to be changed when you transmute an opera in a different medium. If you don't, it's doomed to be dull and/or awkward.
And of course it doesn't help that most LNs and VNs are absolute irredeemable trash.

There are anomalies in the other side, but they're not given a lot of focus outside of two or three of the chapters. Mostly the focus is on the unseen eldritch beings on the other side and how they seem to interact with humans through SCP creepypastas and fucking with perception, and the anomalies are just one part of the other side being dangerous to even enter.
