A inspirational masterpiece on the human spirit

What is Steins Gate?
The will of man to push forward and achieve whatever he dreams, through perseverance almost anything is possible. If someone had told me they think this is overrated, I would have said it deserves even more praise than it gets.

>The will of man to push forward and achieve whatever he dreams, through perseverance almost anything is possible.
Literally every shonen have this exact "message". If anything S;G having shonenshit-tier moral is a bad thing.
Also time travel in S;G makes no sense.
Still a good show tho. But yes, it's overrated by normalfags.

Isnt that based on one of em chinese porno games? Where you click on the answers and ya see some cartoon titties?

Reducing the masterfully presented themes of S;G to the likes of shonen is objectively wrong. I respect your opinion no matter how wrong you may br

>Reducing the masterfully presented themes of S;G to the likes of shonen is objectively wrong
And yet OP did exactly that.

Stop spamming you fucking schizo

It's to defy gods will

How does Yas Forums do it? Even with all it's flaws it still manages to maintain a level of quality far above the other media boards.

steins;gay

It clearly isn't because of midwits calling S;G a masterpiece.

Didn't you get dicked enough in the previous thread? I swear, OP is a female lead of the NTR mindbreak doujin.

Did you steal this from reddit

As opposed to Steins;Gate 0 which is basically just "dude w o r l d w a r t h r e e lmfao."

We've found the officially most retarded poster in history of Yas Forums

Ah bloo bloo

But you can't undo it. All that does is creates another world line where she gets rapes. And you don't time travel, it just sends your memories back in time to yourself.

Your show is trash.

Haha got em

>But you can't undo it. All that does is creates another world line where she gets rapes
Subjectively speaking that's the same thing.

Agreed

bump

Watch the movie

Kek

bump. keep this kino alive.

Why are you doing this

I see

I guess. Then again, seeing as how Steins;Gate is more about shit like multiple universes and quantum suicide than actual time travel all sorts of horrible things are going to happen to her, it's just in Okabe's point of view nothing bad happens.
It's been a while since I read the VN, but in Mayuri's ending doesn't Makise accept that she's going to die, but it's fine because she'll still be there in the other time lines?

I haven't been time to read the VN yet, all i heard about it is OKABE gets some pretty disturbing thoughts

There aren't any parallel realities. Just the one.

Not him but I thought it was left open to interpretation

They very explicitly and directly tell you that there is one universe.

I want to live in the world where Chaos;Head is the SciAdv cashcow

The parallel realities idea doesn't quite work in Steins;Gate because that doesn't explain why does Okabe travel to this parallel reality when he sends d-mails. From his point of view nothing should happen, but in some parallel universe the d-mail was received. So what happens instead is that the universe is reverted to the point in time of the d-mails arrival with things unfolding differently now thanks to the d-mail. Naturally Okabe shouldn't even remember sending the d-mail at this point, and that's why you need preposterous plot devices like Reading Steiner to make it work.

>preposterous
Oh please.

you don't think memories (that ultimately have to be stored physically somewhere like anything in the universe) being an arbitrary exception (and only sometimes, when needed for the plot) when the whole universe is reverted to some past state, something that can just float above everything else and re-enter the brain of the main character fully intact, a bit of a stretch?

Boring
Nothing is accomplished
No self improvement
Every character stays the same
Really nothing happens
The worst vn i did

You must've thought the microwave time machine was even worse

men of culture posting best girl

Actually not really. It's definitely a bit silly, and obviously the details of it don't work at all, but it's less of a stretch of an imagination for me that some powerful technology would be discovered by sheer luck and turned out to be surprisingly easy to achieve. Like with nukes before inventing them we had no reason to assume that they would be hard to make and couldn't be made in someone's garage, we just got lucky in that regard.

Have you considered that you weren't actually told very much about RS and how / why it works? Why the hell would you just decide you know what's going on and judge it based on your """conclusion"""?

>only sometimes
What? Everyone has it.

>Have you considered that you weren't actually told very much about RS and how / why it works? Why the hell would you just decide you know what's going on and judge it based on your """conclusion"""?
That's a defense you could give for any story. Maybe there's some 300 IQ explanation the author just didn't told us about!

>What? Everyone has it.
Most of the time no. The difference between Okabe and everyone else is massive and what the others might remember varies randomly.

FWIW in spite of all of my trash talk I did enjoy Steins;Gate and even its ridiculous time travel mechanics have some benefits for the purpose of telling a story but I'm definitely not taking back my words that the Reading Steiner is a preposterous plot device.

Attached: 1582974821883.png (2508x2721, 2.45M)

That doesn't change anything. It's still dumb to operate as though you know the answer when literally no one does.

>Most of the time no.
Most of the time yes. Kurisu, Mayuri, Faris, Luka and Moeka remember things from other worldlines in the original and in 0 lots of people get actively tracked down because they have powerful RS.

Kurisu brings up that possibility to try and ease her mind a bit, but it's made very clear that there's only a single timeline and no parallel worlds.
If there were d-mails wouldn't cause Rintaro to experience a different timeline, and taking it even further would be blissfully unaware of all the timeline fuckery others are engaging in during Zero.

Well said

>That doesn't change anything. It's still dumb to operate as though you know the answer when literally no one does.
What exactly that I said about Reading Steiner is controversial and up for debate? The past is rewritten, yet somehow memories are stored somewhere and sometimes re-enter the brains of the characters.
Do you seriously justify every asspull in any story with "maybe there's some great explanation the author just doesn't tell us"? Such great explanations are not use for anyone if they aren't somehow told through the story.

>Most of the time yes. Kurisu, Mayuri, Faris, Luka and Moeka remember things from other worldlines
Yes but what they remember is random unlike Okabe who remembers the original timeline normally and the altered timeline not at all. The fact that what is remembered and what is not isn't explained isn't the worst part of it, though the fact that one of the guys who is involved in the making of the d-mail microwave just happens to be a rare case of someone with a natural radically different ability to remember the original timelines isn't exactly brilliant writing.

Reading Steiner is explained actually, just not in S;G itself.
Have fun with R;N DaSH if you thought it being unexplained was bad writing, it can very much get a lot dumber.

>The past is rewritten, yet somehow memories are stored somewhere
*original memories of the past before it was rewritten

I wasn't planning to read any of the R;N stuff at all but you got me morbidly curious.
