If you took the positives from both you'd end up with a legitimately great DB property.

I miss the old times when SS3 Vegito was the strongest character of the franchise (that or SS4 Gogeta if you counted GT). Every fanfic and videogame just continued from there for the past 15 years, giving 3 and 4 to the characters who didn't have it (Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan), aging the kids so they're useful and something to make the Namekians and humans stronger. Some linear progression with SS4 and 5 would have been fine but unneeded, a new DB series could just go on with the forms we already knew.
DBS just introduced more power creep with God Ki, making non-Saiyans forever irrelevant and even the Saiyans are useless except for Goku & Vegeta, because they're the only ones with SSB.

Forget about seeing everyone fighting back to back on equal terms with Ultimate SS3 forms and the kids being useful adults, it's all gone now.

Zamasu was entertaining but the Goku Black twist was a massive letdown. It wasn't an evil Goku. Not even a "Possessed Goku still screaming in horror on the inside while the enemy controls his body" thing. I'd have liked the latter so we could even get an emotional scene with Goku regaining conrol for a second to stop Rose from killing them so they escape, for example, or Vegeta finally killing Rose and Goku's soul being finally at peace.
But no, it was a simple body swap Ginyu-style. Goku was unceremoniously killed while in Zamasu's body. Even that could have been interesting if Black kept Zamasu-Goku as a prisoner somewhere.

And everything involved Hit ended up in dissappointment as well, because instead of proper strategy to beat his Time shenanigans they just powered up so it broke.
I liked the initial hype though, with Goku being considered faster than time and being put in fights against the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
