Does anyone here still mine...

does anyone here still mine? is it even worth investing in a small mining rig and mining eth or btc on the hopes that the price will continue to increase even if i'm not making much daily because of power costs or if it a stupid thing to do now that mining rigs/GPUs/gaming computers are so expensive?

I guess only if you have free energy costs, you barely cover the costs of the gpus, and their performances go down after a full year of mining

Free energy here too, and a room where you can put it because it's noisy as hell

Better if you buy btc directly

what about other coins like ethereum? i don't think btc mining is going to be profitable unless it gets to triple it's ATH at some point in the next few years. i mean i was leaning towards not doing this and just DCAing into bitcoin, eth, and link like i've been doing for the past couple years but was curious if anyone on a small scale had any success with it or if its not worth the trouble.

There will be a lot of small miners who won‘t be able to afford mining after the halving, look online to buy used gear by then

>gpu
mining btc with a gpu is nearly impossible, i was talking about eth and similar

A decent gpu rig costs around 2k or more, you buy 10+ eth with it.
Go to whattomine and check how much time it would take to mine 10 eth with your gpu rig

bitcoin is the only coin you know the mining algorithm and distribution schedule

>and their performances go down after a full year of mining
isnt this a meme? how is that even possible?

ETH is moving to PoS and will fire the miners over the next months.

Monero with RandomX is the best thing to mine

that's a good point, didn't even think about mining not being possible after ethereum 2.0
