en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speculative_attack >For example, an investor borrows 100X and converts it to 100Y at the fixed exchange rate of 1X to 1Y. If the nation X runs out of foreign reserve Y in this period or if they are forced to allow their currency to float, the value of X may drop to an exchange rate of 2X to 1Y. Investors can then exchange their 100Y for 200X, allowing them to pay off the loan of 100X and maintaining a profit of 100X. If paper gold is unbacked, wouldn't it be very easy to launch such an attack on "gold"? >borrow shit ton of paper gold >exchange it for real gold >??? >profit

You want to know anything about your local mineral wealth and how to access it, ask it here, I will be making each answer as short and sweet as possible.
The Central and Northern reaches have produced a surprising amount of glacial and vein fed nugget gold. The most gold has been found on the Potomac River in the Great Falls area, but some other areas worth investigating are Catonsville in Baltimore County, Libertytown in Frederick County, and in Howard County it may be profitable to check out Woodbine and Simpsonville. The gold will be mostly fine, but native gold wire also appears in course gravels and boulder creeks feeding the Potomac.
