That shrimp thread got me interested in the idea of indoor farming. I did some research and shrimp farming needs a ton of space to be profitable. Whats some farming ideas that can be done profitably at low scale and high density (ie, backyard/basement sized).

Just be a freight broker instead.
Sprouts, I am farming sprouts indoor and so far it looks like a cheap and low risk farming idea
microgreens always seemed like a cuck industry to me. Does anyone actually eat that shit? Or are you selling germinated seeds to growers?
Indoor farming food like shrimp and fish is pretty dumb and you expose yourself to a lot of risk.
If you want to do something like this, but with less risk look into farming coral. Theres tons of coral hobbyists that will pay good $ for polyps. All you have to do is learn how to maintain a tank and buy some good polyps and wait for them to multiply, then harvest some to sell and repeat. On top of passive income its also a beautiful addition to your home and a talking piece when you entertain guests
This could be legit, I live in a diverse city and know a lot of Africans that would buy this shit up. Can they be farmed at high density though?
Is there a lot of input costs for that? Things like electricty, water nutrients etc. I figured it'd be a bigger initial investment for the tanks but I can live with that
No most of it is upfront, if you get good lights it will barely affect your electricity bill
Use the snails to bait and capture the Africans, then sell them on the slave market.
just get a kit from alibaba
Herbs? I’m sure there’s a market for locally grown rare herbs.

Confirmed, Yas Forums is now a shrimp farming board (btw these threads are good).
shrooms
Shrimpbro here,
For farming beautiful crystal red shrimps you need space for a 40 gallon tank, rain water and little bit of food once a week. This is financial advice.
This. Cannabis in the locker, UV and hidroponics

child farming.
Already doing this, although not hydroponics. I don't find the nutrient cost to be worth the marginal quality increase in the kush. Definitly a great option overall tho
Could I put something like this in my basement, toss a bit of gravel and algae in and then just throw in some shrimp?
I'm looking into raising angora rabbits for fiber sales. They can be cheap since they can have a lot of their food supplemented with lawn grazing and you can easily increase your flock since they breed like you know....rabbits. Also the idea of being greeted by a flock of fluffballs when I get home makes me happy.
>Can they be farmed at high density though?
No. Snails are cannibalistic and they lay less eggs in high population densities.
Yes. The basement is good because the temperature is stable all year round. Good idea.
One thing you need to buy though is a sponge-filter pump (sponge so the shrimp don't get sucked in) - it removes the poo and adds oxygen to the water.
If you want to get fancy then you can check whether the water is up to spec with testing kits. PH paper is something you dip into the tank, then it turns different colors. You can tell if it's too acidic based on the color.
You also don't want hard water (too many minerals) it's the shit that comes from drawing water from deep wells where there are too many minerals and makes washing clothes difficult.
You can also grow say tomatos in the same tub and the plants will absorb the shrimp poo, but then you need also light.
Rabbits are the right idea, but Angora in particular are much more difficult than other rabbits. Yes you can shear Angoras of their wool, but you will need to get comfortable with culling and processing your rabbits, or they will overwhelm you, no matter which breed of rabbits it is.
Rabbits are quiet, easy to set up in a rational way, and provide top tier fertilizer for your vegetable garden.
Some fuckers thought this would be a good idea, but eating those things aren't even usual in my country. The alien snails were released and infested the cities
>Culling
Thats the hard part for me, making the leap from pets to livestock. Been reading a lot of ULAR and IACUC manuals to learn quick and human execution techniques.
Where 2 research
anyone taken the spirulina pill? i hear it's pretty easy to make in fish tanks
I love watching videos about aquaponics projects and related shit, but shit seems to hard to me.
Just grow weed, pussy. Easy money especially if it’s illegal in your state/country
