actually Open Oracle (the standard Coinbase chose instead of Chainlink) allows to do exactly what Chainlink does, take in multiple signed apis and get the average/median/whatever.
It literally makes Chainlink obsolete when other exchanges start adding signatures with their APIs. (And yes, it makes TEEs obsolete too)
And it's free, without tokens. It's literally the Chainlink killer.

Sure, you could, but it would be completely pointless, so no one will. If Coinbase wanted to use Chainlink, they would have. They obviously choose this standard with is better, and doesn't have a parasitic centralized token.
