>4 year degree in IT
Holy shit, I dropped out of college after 2 years and got a handful of CompTIA certs and make $30/hr. How long have you been out of school?

I also dropped out. If I just get sec+ will i be good? Just talked to airforce recruiter and they said imma have to wait since I got add meds a year ago

Any advice for a 23 year old with a Master degree in International relations? Am I boned if we get a great depression 2.0?

Finished school at 25, got my job at 26

I've only been doing this for two years. I don't know what the problem is. I have a ton of certs as well. I've had other job offers at 9 dollars an hour but they were over an hour away. my friend has the same degree and certs I have an he makes $10.

how the fuck do you make $30? I would KILL for $15

Sounds like you’re in a flyover state, consider moving

Yes you're screwed why the fuck did you major in that? Global Homo Jew degree.

Yup, flyovers make jack shit in tech unless you are in a major metro or doing remote. You got memed. Trades are a better option in that area IMO.

Search for /RPG/ in the archives and join our IRC. IT security would be a great fit for you.

You are boned regardless of a depression. Might as well get in on some scam like teaching it to other poor suckers

I was working IT help desk at a power company, the engineering department need someone so I interned for them. Now I'm an electrical engineer with an IT degree and I make 85k at 24.

My parents fell for the "College= a better life" meme. I was thinking about using it to work for super major firms though or consulting. Maybe intelligence/risk companies.

The irc is still going? Nice imma get in there

Start applying for better jobs.

Haha I totally am. The thing is glassdoor says I should be making $20 an hour in my state. I even joined a facebook group for admins, and there are some in my state that make $20+ $30+

When I asked for a raise the owner of the company told me they couldn't afford it. that was a year ago. I'm pretty sure the receptionist makes more than I do lol

however there is one thing: I don't have to do anything. I literally hangout in my office and do MAYBE two hours of work a day. The busiest week I ever had was an 8-hour day setting up everyones new tablets lmao

so its like, I make $270 to go on youtube and play games on my phone idk bro

I make $60/hour in a fly over state on IT. Work on your skills OP.

I'm sure you can figure something out, but I don't expect anyone will be looking for you. Just makes some connections and try to show off any valuable skills.

Find a way to get ServiceNow Certified System Admin and then go work for either a ServiceNow consulting company or advertise yourself on LinkedIn as a ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator.

ServiceNow is a ITSM platform that shitloads of companies use and there's a massive demand for non-pajeets to do dev work in their environments. Skills needed are basic javascript and ability to learn in-house systems.

Are you in a metro area?

Yes! Very nice. Although I'm gonna sleep now but see you tomorrow then.

Yeah, Kansas City. I do networking

You’re seriously blaming your choice of a degree (a fucking masters too) on your parents?
No wonder you’re having trouble finding work

waiting for you bud :D

t. ya216 (I posted the /rpg/ threads when OSCPanon was gone)

I don't know why I come to these threads. Maybe I like feeling depressed...

Not really, you misunderstand my post. I got into that field was the only thing I was good at college I sucked at math and I can't code for the life of me.

My parents where the ones who pushed me to go to college, because trades and the military or police were never considered legitimate options for me. My dad works in trade and didn't want me to have that life because it sucks according to him and my mom had to drop out of college to help her brother so she has a college chip on her shoulder.

I'm and I'm in Oklahoma, so definition of flyover, I used head hunters to find my jobs. It sounds like you are applying for way below what you can make.

Also for the master's my mom saw how my cousins who had gotten bachelors degrees weren't finding jobs and basically said that I am going to get a masters in that field because if my cousins couldn't find a job I "wasn't" going to find a job as an undergrad.

Scrum master certificate? You can do the exam for 150 and study everything online.

This, also I bet op's resume is dogshit

Do you do everything your mom tells you to do? If your parents aren't successful in life why would you listen to them for advice. Learn from their mistakes, but if they knew how to "make it" they wouldn't be where they are.

Leave that place

Sounds like you should just wait for your mom to find you a job
