The problem isn't a lack of psychologists, it's a lack of android waifus

There’s more need for psychologists but not more demand. People who need a them can’t afford it. Unless you’re betting on universal healthcare that includes mental health, there are better options. There’s also way too high entry barriers to the field of psychology, unless you’ve got a PhD don’t even think about opening a praxis.

Also, most psychologists are leftist academic types who need mental help themselves in the first place and will put you on some sort of list that gets you banned from guns, or getting a job. They treat you like a felon. So why would anyone go seek help in the first place?

The job thing is shitty but banning mentally unstable or suicidal people from buying guns is just a responsible decision. If they don’t have a gun, they’ll attempt other methods which have lower likeliness of succeeding so they might survive.

At least 50% of psychology is corrupt, lobby-driven and based on the idea of trying to peddle consumerist ideas. Or supporting whatever is currently en vogue. Aside of the fact that it's one of the lowest IQ sciences and many (if not most) psychologists are literally too dumb to draw sound logical conclusions. Which is pretty factual even if the IQ obviously doesn't tell the whole story.

If you have "complexes" about your dick-size, I guess it'll understand where you are coming from. If you have real problems, however... not so much. Which again makes sense considering the intelligence of your average psychologist. Who will then try to hypothesize why intelligent people don't obey their ideas. Maybe you don't want to have mindless sex, and are then labelled as ill, for instance. Or whatever. Often based on entirely self-conforming and circular premises. Again thinking of how you must love to have sex or pursue some other arbitrary consumerist activity, and if you don't, then you must be ill. It's the definition of a midwit "science."
