is coinbase safe enough to keep my stacks on? Or should I buy one of these?
It is said to be the only unhackable wallet and you own the key but what if it breaks because of a bug? or get lost in a house fire?
Is coinbase safe enough to keep my stacks on? Or should I buy one of these?
you can buy another and restore it with the phrase of reset words you get. i think atleast.
you should buy a ledger. If it gets destroyed you can get a new one and use the same keyphrase to regain your addresses.
They're a good thing to own. There's no reason to cuck yourself out of the option of knowing an exchange won't fuck you over through some nonsense.
Correct. Also it shouldn't get lost in a house fire because it should be in a safe with your gold and silver stacks.
I'm keeping my stack spread across kucoin, binance and coinbase for years. Yolo.
Fuck it dude
no hardware wallet is "unhackable"
the only thing that is unhackable is big enough pool of enthropy ie a strong fucking passphrase.
unless you use the 25th word feature on these shitstains they are not secure. but if you do you got about 2 buttons to enter a 25 character phrase every time you try to transact. gonna take a while.
i it uses standard key/wallet derivation from seed you don't even need it to restore your coins.
however this is important in this scenario the devices security matters little securing your secret (seed words) in a secure and redundant manner is what keeps your coins safe.
which means the device itself is just a distraction a trinket. something you pay $100 for and gives you nothing actual in return when you look at the big picture.
My ledger broke when I had to update it. I'd never buy another one. They sent me a new one, but I've yet to restore it due to laziness.
Coinbase and Gemini are both comparatively very safe among crypto exchanges. But if you don't have coins in an address you control, you can never know that your coins haven't been rehypothecated somewhere.
I am happy with my Trezor. It has 24 seed word backup, get a safe deposit box and put a copy of the words in there.
PAPER
WALLET
SHITPUSHERS
how does that work
Regardless of Coinbase’s or any exchange’s security the government can always compel the exchange to freeze your account or even steal your crypto. (Civil asset forfeiture in the US) Binance is Chinese which means it is owned by a bunch of fucking communists. A group of scum with a distinct disinterest in property rights. Use a hardware wallet or anything that means only you know your keys.
Paper wallet only works if you're never going to transact your coins. Sure, you should have your 10k linkies in a paper wallet, but other coins that you might trade or transact are better off on a hardware wallet, since you don't want to have to remake a paper wallet each time you use it on a potentially compromised device.
false
>but if you do you got about 2 buttons to enter a 25 character phrase every time you try to transact.
Are you fucking retarded?
Use a hardware wallet
absolute state of nubiz
>Paper wallet only works if you're never going to transact your coins
this is only true if you're a FUCKING RETARD
davvero? ancora a sto punto stai?
I'm happy with my Trezor
What's an alternative for coinbase for burgerlandians? I need to buy more and they cucked my bank account
bitstamp (tough kyc, you wont get away with shady shit), kraken, gemini
you iq test is false positive
go on prove me wrong
you have never used a ledger.
>restore it with the phrase of reset words
True. But this is a problem if you're a digital nomad. If your bags get stolen along with your reset words you're in a very bad spot.
Don't keep your reset words in any easily reachable physical location, or in plain text. Simple.
Exactly. If you're a digital nomad, this won't work. You don't have a permanent home, hence no permanent safe place for your digital words.
