Who else here flosses daily? Curious how much dental work you have had. Wanted to see if flossing does safe money in the long run.
>Almost 33 year olds > two small preventative fillings >Early gum loss due to brushing too hard as a teenager/kid. >Have flossed every day for over 4 years.
>48 years old >multimillionaire >missing most of my teeth >too cheap to spring for implants >waiting for the last 5 to break or fall out to get dentures

i don't floss at all, 25 y/o and never had a cavity, also have all my wisdom teeth in.
Jack Jones
lol I hope you’re not trolling. I am richer than you yet I have no money. I have health
Aaron Robinson
I used to have health and no money too.
you'll run out of health whether you have money or no
Grayson Cox
Woah, EXACT same situation as you except only floss about once a fucking year. No problems whatsoever except for every couple years the hot dentist tech getting grossed out at all of the blood when she's poking around my shit with metal picks.
Andrew Thompson
Oh jeeze man, that's rough. Friend of mine has two loose teeth due to braces and needs teeth repair.
Interesting about silver. O know it has anti-bacterial properties. I use stannous fluoride rather than sodium fluoride.
Hah, classic!
Nice! Yeah, kept my wisdom teeth to.
Jayden Gray
I use a water floss. Works great, much cleaner feel since using it the last 3 yrs.
Eli Bell
I never floss or brush. My teeth are great. Went to the dentist the other day and wanted to charge for a bunch of crap. No way jose. Nothing hurts and my breath is always fresh. Daily reminder that dentistry is a jewish scam and you’d be better off investing the money you spend in “dental care”
Jace Foster
Nigger, never change. Jesus fucking Christ
Nathan Parker
Ok so I never floss. I'm 25. Have about 300k in stocks amd cash, own my own house worth about 300k as well. No dental work, just a regular cleaning every 6 months. Whenever I go in they say my teeth are fine. I brush twice a day.
Blake Davis
Had one for a while. Felt neat to use on my gums.
Some dentists will do that. Went to a place that wanted a 'level 3 deep cleaning"and 4 or 5 fillings due to their super expensive program.
Went to another dentist who said, "Nah, you're good." I split between him and a dental hygiene school.
Sounds like you have a honest dentist.
Camden Hernandez
How did you loose them?????
I'm fairly young and lost some to cracking. Anger issues cause me to clench my teeth. I get mad driving, dealing with stupid people, drama non sense from time to time. I try being conscious of it, or chew gum but I seem to be loosing one every other year.
Had a cracked molar extracted recently, fuggin sucked, but at least I have a nice stockpile of soup leftover.
Implants suck btw, wouldn't get. Agree with you, just let the rest fall out.
Adrian Sanders
Or brush your teef before showering and use the poor mans water pic. The detachable showerhead. It will get your tounge, cheeks, and throatpeice all nice and squeaky clean.
Jose Price
Did implants not work due to continued grading? I read that was a one the common reasons for them failing.
Any greater risk of bad bacteria being transfered from shower head to your mouth that way?
Jason Jones
>Anger issues cause me to clench my teeth that's pretty much how I lost them. I grind my teeth in my sleep. After a while they just snap off.
Austin Harris
Never had implants but did extensive research on them and noped the fuck out of that option!! Like I said wouldn't get even if free.
Not of you keep your shower head clean. Never had problems. You tie a ziplock bag filled with white vinegar to head every 2 weeks or so and let it soak.
I owned a water pic years ago and found it a hassle, didn't really have room for it on sink counter so didn't use it all that much.
Here ya go finance, invent a seprate shower apparatus for mouth cleaning, like a split tube with a showerhead on one end and a smaller higher pressure mouth cleaner on another line.
Nathan Foster
Ah man that's not hopeful.... you ever get one of those sleeping mouth guards. They tried to talk me into one and I told them my issue, I'm not a grinder, I sleep mouth open snoring like crazy.
Anthony Garcia
no I never did. I was really poor when all this was going on. Couldn't afford to take care of the problem. Now I can afford it but the teeth are mostly gone.
but every time I talk to a dentist they tell me the few I got are better than dentures so I go around looking like I got my grill kicked in. But at least I can still eat steak.
Zachary Davis
I think you're on the right track- being mindful when you're clenching or grinding.
for me chewing gum made it worse because it encourages the habit of flexing the jaw muscles. Your call though.
Brayden Morales
also get your blood pressure checked. I got on some blood pressure meds that relaxed my grinding some. Just a side effect of the meds, they make you a lot more chill.
Adam Reyes
The dentist tell me the same. I have been tempted at times to stop brushing just to get them out! After my last extraction I can finally eat chocolate without pain (for now). Chocolate is probably my equivalent to your steak!
Hmmm never thought about the gum thing being bad. More of like a cushion for clenching? Should probably take it easy on it or try that xylene gum instead.
Blood pressures a bit tricky for me. It fluctuates from very high to very low. To make it worse I get extremely nervous at Dr.s and I always read extra high.
Idk if you could even get to the dr.s right now with virus. Are those meds sulfur based? I could always add more garlic/onions to diet in the meantime.
Juan Hill
Your early gum loss wasn't from brushing too hard user.
It's a genetic thing, some people have a lot of gum that then suddenly recedes a little in their late teens/early twenties and can be alarming but it will stop quickly and then very little further recession will occur. I had it too in my early twenties despite good oral hygiene and a lot of dentists will just fob you off by saying you're brushing too hard when they actually don't know shit - I wish they would just admit they don't know rather than telling people bullshit like this
Of course flossing helps stop gum recession and other problems. If you do it at least every day it will slow down calculus build up around your gum line which is what causes gingivitis and periodontis. Im having invisalign at the moment so got into the habit of flossing after every meal and I use a water pick too, they are very good and not expensive
I'd also recommend going to the dentist every 3 months to have any calculus build up removed if you have a genetic disposition to it, it is NOT a waste of money as it is an investment in the long term health of your gums and teeth and any dental work you can avoid in later life is a bonus. There are also antibiotics and supplements you can get if you have severe periodontis which will stop it. If any anons have bleeding gums or notice their gums receding then do something about it NOW, it won't go away by itself
I think my current meds are snake venom type. ACE inhibitors.
you're right about seeing a doc now though. Probably not going to happen. If I had it to do all over again I'd probably just buy a cheap blood pressure machine ($30 or so) and start checking myself. Then you don't get that spike from being in the dr's office. Might get a better picture of how you're doing. If you do that make sure to record your numbers every day though. Then the doc can see how you're running.
Eli Carter
Had 28 fillings pre flossing Just 2 in 12 years post flossing
Anthony Nguyen
32 2 crowns and 4+fillings One of the crowns is from a broken tooth, other from a filling that was replaced. i usually take care of my teeth and have a good smile but i go through depressive spurts and don't take care of myself for a bit and it led to my molars having some cavities. flossing definitely helps, possibly more than brushing if you don't have a high sugar diet. I also did a lot of cocaine which didn't help. Are you my old boss? is your name Bob?
Liam Watson
Legit snake venom? Damn that's intense.
That's a really good idea, I think ill order one offline, the wrist monitors arent to expensive. Have to be disciplined and make sure to be consistent in recording.
Thanks very much for the excellent advice!
Dominic Murphy
You're welcome, good luck. Don't be me.
William Parker
>Are you my old boss? is your name Bob? nope, but I'm not some rare case. Probably lots of moderately wealthy people with very bad teeth out there.
