if 0xbtc were named literally anything else, it would still be filling the same niche. you just flat out need a trustless mineable native asset for defi to have longevity. a wrapper for btc might assist in porting partial liquidity from btc, but you're left with something both reliant on its own block chain and the token bridge. which still isn't natively programmable into smart contracts
