anyone else stacking real assets. None of that shiny boomer rock bullshit. None of those shitcoins I've been stacking since 1999. Market value = 89,000 this is where true value is going to flow after the dollar goes to 0.

I buy my kid a factory sealed box of that shit every month for his allowance. He informs me that he's making money. I'm skeptical but it's not my job to shit on his parade.

I used to invest in pogs, I'm guessing your stash will go the same way they did.

I've approx 20K tied in mtg cards, everything crashed ultra hard since last year because jotc is full of sjw retards who can't stop doing horse shit every single day of the year. Worst kike company ever, they are crashing the mtg plane with no survivors while they literally own the FED equivalent of TCGs. Even a bunch of heroinoman nigresses whores in a crackhouse in Detroit during a tsunami while high on acid would manage the game better than the current soikikes in charge.

I have a coworker who is obsessed with sports cards. He buys all kinds of baseball, basketball, and football player card with every paycheck. He swears they are worth 250k all together, but imho ease of liquidity is a major issue.

With gold and silver it wouldnt take only a day to convert it to cash. With cards you need a buyer who actually understands the value of the card, AND is willing to pay for it.

I got a few pokey man cards that ive pulled mostly from the newer sets, I really enjoyed the tag team series they have had lately also I really liked the hidden fates set.

>no shadowless
>no 1st edition
Literally worth fuckall
You must be talking about the newer ones? Cause factory sealed boxes of the OG ones are pricey

>jotc

Jews Of The Coast?

I am investing all sorts of vintage card games. But I will not reveal what I am investing in until I am happy with my position.

I don't know what he gets. It costs $120 per box shipped average. He finds a few really nice cards but nothing worth more than the box costs.

I've encouraged him to start selling his extras on ebay but apparently that's too much work.

ok rudy

Don't worry, I will be shilling them on Yas Forums when I am ready :p.

I made the mistake of shilling pokemon booster boxes here before I got my full position and only helped hasten the price rise.

>Jews Of The Coast?
yep

Lmao, is that community Communist by any chance?

If you plan to make money on magic cards, there are practically one of two ways to do it
>1: have deep understanding of game, follow formats and metas, read articles, spend a large amount of time on the game
>2: buy wrapped booster boxes and wait 5 years until they double in value
Don't go broke buying singles, buy boxes like a true chad

sealed booster boxes are such a waste of money when it comes to pokemon. better off stocking up on elite trainer boxes.

I am already more than 2x on my base unlimited booster boxes.. At the time when I was buying you could get tonnes of 1st edition fossil and team rocket booster boxes for £1000 a piece, now they are what? More than triple? I am remember being aware that they were a no-brainer investment but still didn't buy as many as I would have liked to....... Now I am more focused on hidden gems in the vintage card world that people haven't picked up on.. I still wouldn't mind picking up a few extra Pokemon boxes if possible. Perhaps if I get crypto rich.

>no charizard

I had 4 before I turned 13. Still to this day have them then was btfo'd when i realized my entire collection was pointless without the first edition stamp

when I was in high school I pulled a based set charizard sold it to some kid for a 150 dollars, we went to a posh private school full of rich cunts. I brought a pair of DC skate shoes with it.

you need to teach your son what it feels like to fail hard repeatedly

>Now I am more focused on hidden gems in the vintage card world that people haven't picked up on.
Garbage Pail Kids aren't going to hold their value, user.

premade commander decks make a ton of money too. plebs buy them at huge markup

My dad says card games used to be with like a bunch of little sheets? Not just icons?

Don't worry, I can spot quality.

I didnt know anything about the cards just had the games then switched schools and everyone was batshit over the cards because they were too poor for the games I guess. So i made my parents stop at toys r us the next day and on the first pack I opened was a charizard. then i scammed other kids for 3 more lol. definitely got some decent offers for all of them back then, more than what theyre worth now.

>you need to teach your son what it feels like to fail hard repeatedly
we all fail repeatedly, those that feel anything about that rarely succeed.

it's not the quality that's the issue. I'm fairly certain all of these things are fads and they age pretty badly once the generation that first collected them winds up in a home for the elderly.

I could be wrong. But right now I have my grandparent's stamp collection sitting in my office. It takes up several boxes and was worth tens of thousands of dollars back in the 80's. Worthless now though. Ebay killed the fad.

I used to sell yugioh cards. 5 years ago until i got into crypto in 2016. One of the old cards i had was Chaos emperor dragon envoy of the end. i sold it for 80 eur. if i see the prices now my heart aches. How come prices rise up? How does the tcg market work? Should you research the cards in new booster boxes etc. that are staples in tournament decks?

The two main card games I am focused on I feel have some potential as the themes will be of cultural interest into the future.. In some ways I see more fundamental strength than Magic The Gathering... I have also invested in one card game which is a bit more childish that I kind of dislike, but the story has some cultural weight and it's produced by a well known company.

Good luck then.

I've been selling antique postcards on ebay. The average sale is $1 but my ancestors collected about 20,000 of them. A handful of them go for more than $50 each and a larger fraction sell for around $10, but even if I only get a buck I'm very slowly accumulating something out of my grandparent's crap.

but just like stamps and bottles I expect the rush to collect antique postcards is also a fad. The market may very well disappear before I get all this shit sold.

You're rewarding your son to suck ass, he doesn't even know he's failing

I have seen a few old Chinese post cards go for around 10k in case you have any. The price varies of course.

It's not failure if you enjoy what you're doing.

>they age pretty badly once the generation that first collected them winds up in a home for the elderly.
I can see pic related appealing to multiple generations
