Because you are. You should be making at least 70k by 24.
100k at 28. 120k at 30.
T. 35 y/o with 200k total comp
It depends what you want your retirement to look like. Baller? You’re behind. Poverty? You’re ahead.
This. You’re setting yourself up for a minimal retirement OP. If you’ll even be able to retire.
25 here with multiple properties and 12 inch dick
OP don't listen to this guy.
You are doing good. Literally just keep saving all your fucking money and you will make it user.
Obviously you want to keep growing your income. This much goes without saying.
>chainlink
ahahaha
Same except I got a pension so I don't need to save for retirement.
Status anxiety. You're bought in to keeping up with the Jones' now. You're invested in the ideology that you're nothing more than capital generator and a consumer, and that your material possessions define you. That your job is the apex of your life and so on.
You're too invested in that train of thought. You're probably in the grey area where your resources aren't enough for you to feel "free" but not meager enough to demand discipline and stricture in spending to the degree where you'd suffer. You're failing to realize that money is a means to an end, not the end itself. Take your excess time and use it wisely, hobbies, or accumulation of knowledge. Take some accredited classes and try for a degree in your spare time, if not to find a better position, then simply to better yourself. Maybe just spend that time with people you enjoy. If there's one thing I've learned in life it's that people are the only thing you can't replace, and they're the only asset truly valuable.
But suggesting that consuming, or generating is going to fill the abyss is wrong.
Well said user. Agreed. Consooming is a shallow way to go through life.
you get help with from your daddy for the mortgage there
You're not $25K in credit card debt and have a job. That's more than most could say.
Don't listen to faggots like this : Work is slavery. Minimum wage is a gateway drug.
Stop comparing yourselves to others.
Buy 250K ARPA and wait until you cross $1M. Sell, and compound your wealth.
this is god tier advice. also blessed digits.
First things first sell your chain link and buy a more respectable asset. At your income and education if you lose 90k you would be devastated. Maybe invest it in yourself or buy a small house in cash.
ty fren
I think regardless of the education level losing 90k would devastate anyone, except millionaires maybe?
wow.
Frens being frens.
iim blessed T.T
>29
>live at home
>40k inheritance

you're doing fine. Im totally fucked
You're doing fine. A lot of people are dead broke in their late 30s and then start thinking about how they're going save something so they have some hope of retiring. That bet on LINK is pretty big though. Good luck user.

i don’t know what to do and it feels like i’m too late for everything. i don’t want to learn to code if rather work with my hands. what do i do, learn CAD?
38k in a 401k at 26 years old is fantastic what the fuck are you guys smoking? If you can't afford to max out your 401k (he can't) then your living expenses shouldn't require you need millions of dollars in retirement. He's doing fine as long as he continues to contribute to his 401k and doesn't touch it.
The recommendation is to have the equivalent of one year's salary by age 30 and he should be well beyond that in 4 years time. It's good to have ambitious goals, but you also need to realize that not every is gonna make 250k/yr as a software dev in San Fran. 45k is a livable wage in many places.
Just for comparison here are my stats
>24 y/o
>earn about 42k/yr
>waiting on a promotion (had the interview the week before corona shut everything and haven't heard back)
>finna get an MBA if the promotion actually goes through
>still live with parents
OP is doing good for himself imho.
Get a link stack
everyone here lives in shitty fly over states. owning a house on 45k a year? gimme a break...
>every state that isn't New York or California is a flyover state
Go fuck yourself. I live in MD, and it is entirely possible to own a house on 45k where I live. A house doesn't have to be 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, with a double garage to be considered livable.
You can still find small ranchers for 100k.
Where in MD? In some bumfuck county? If you want to live close enough to not spend 90 mins commuting to any place that pays well, you will pay dropping 500k minimum on a house. Unless you want to live with MS13 or niggers.
you obviously live in "fucking nowhere" "(not montgomery county or DC). otherwise, no, that's no possible. I like telling people that don't live in montgomery county that they live in "fucking nowhere." it makes me feel really superior
>If you want to live close enough to not spend 90 mins commuting to any place that pays well, you will pay dropping 500k minimum on a house.
And this why you'll stay broke no matter how much money you earn. You're too pussy to put up with a 90 minute commute. I did a 90 minute every day last year JUST FOR COLLEGE. My dad has done 2 hour commutes for his job and he is a contractor. In fact, most of my neighborhood has similar commutes because this area is full of contractors who commute to DC/Baltimore/Virginia for work.
MD is a commuter state dipshit. So yea, go ahead and spend half a million on a 2 story townhouse in Montgomery County just to save yourself a "90 minute commute". You'll just spend 60 minutes sitting in beltway traffic instead.
I don't understand what point you're trying to make, poorfag. Stay angry, I guess?
I love how everyone can shit talk OP but show no evidence of their amazing 500k salaries and 1mil dollar homes
Not only that, but you act like his income is perpetually going to be 45k
>I did a 90 minute every day last year JUST FOR COLLEGE. My dad has done 2 hour commutes for his job and he is a contractor
Oh you're a zoomer. Don't post until you've lurked for at least 4 years.
>Oh you're a zoomer
No, I'm a millenial, literally the youngest of the generation like boomers born in 1960. I was born in 95.
>Don't post until you've lurked for at least 4 years.
I've probably been here longer you than faggot. I started posting in 2013.
They're cocksuckers with nothing going for themselves so they attack everyone else to feel better. I posted my stats just to show OP that he was doing well for himself.
Most of them probably don't even keep of their finances.
