What the hell am i supposed to do with it? Selling it seems like a bad idea and i dont need cash atm. I have a well paying job and are never short on cash.
But what is the point of keeping gold if you never monetize it? I am actually more attached sentimentally to that piece of gold because of granpa but it is just too valuable to not do something with it.

If you are looking for short term sale gold is near all time high of $1,900. Sell the gold to a local dealer but in increments. When you have enough to invest in what you want buy it with the cash you had saved. If you are not trying to invest and just want to buy cool stuff why are you here?

Grandfather was a froogle Swabian. Lived like a poor man but had over 1.5 million € in his accounts when he died. His sons got all the money but he left me this piece of gold.
I have no large purchase to make, i own a car, i make enough to go on great vacation trips. I am still renting thonand looking to buy. Maybe i'll just use it for that. But wouldnt it make more sense cashing it in when the price is really high even if i dont plan on buying real estate in the next two years?
