I made a similar thread prior to this because not all Canadian investors have 100% American market exposure and require some domestic focus. The previous thread that I made appeared to be popular for us Canabros, so I hope this one will be as well - maybe we will even get this thing semi-regularly. I modeled the /CIG/ off of /smg/ - but, I wanted to avoid that acronym so we aren't accidentally linked together as happened last time. If anyone wants to provide critiques regarding name or format please mention below. Otherwise, good luck!
If you're from Europe and this is a genuine question: >In North America eggs are treated with a chemical wash after being laid as to avoid the spread of disease and contaminants (Europe uses inoculations/injections into the chickens instead).
If you're American: >Just be a dude and relax about it.
It's on my future plans. I chose to have many small stocks instead of a few big ones

can someone list some BASED canadian dividend stocks with good yields that hopefully won't cut. im looking to build a dividend portfolio. i was going to buy american companies for divvies but learned that i would get raped in taxes so now im looking for canadian ones.
Checkout how poorly they did after the 2008 crisis, it took a 6 year RECOVERY, I used to think AC was a good buy - but, their numbers are bad and record is worse.
Jason Adams
based thanks. regarding AC, isnt this different though? this drop is due to planes not flying and therefore once they start flying again (whenever that may be...) we should see a recovery?
Ian Ross
Just went yolo short term on DOC
Thoughts?

Holy shitballs look at Antibe

You should probably not name any broker except interactive, wealthsimple (which should explicitly point to trade, not invest, because they're completely separate and can't transfer between each other and it's not clear enough), and questrade. The "educational sites" are also pretty shit.
2008 isn't the only time you should have looked. Historically AC has always been flimsy and it went bankrupt 2 times, being bailed out only once (for a total of 3 times).
Beside you should also use tradingview's screener. Set exchange to cse or tsx, order by dividend yield.
Wyatt Stewart
On AC, I am quite hesitant to buy because of the following: sub-par fundamentals (P/E, debt, et cetera), overall poor performance with airlines, poor performance after 2008. That being said, some points in favour of AC would be: the premier domestic carrier that gets bailouts constantly, WestJet (main domestic competitor) is looking worse, and oil prices are lo which should result in cheaper fuel. I think AC is moderate-high risk and moderate-low reward.
I'd rather buy ENB, FFH, or a financial.
Brayden Miller
>that gets bailouts constantly, Not true. Look harder. They only got bailed out once. The likelihood of another bailout is, formally, 33.33%, while I would eyeball the probability at 50%.

Is anything other then financial, mining or energy worth it in Canada? Do we do anything else?
Jaxson Morris
Pipelines and retail (couchetard and dollarama), as well as REITs (real estate market in canada is the most corrupt in the entire world, so it's always super profitable to invest in it). Also weed, but >weed Canada also has a strong biotech industry but biotech is never worth investing into.
Liam Rogers
I think AC would be a decent long term hold just based off it being Canada's go to airline. It will get bailed out, I think due to the fact that this downturn is due to a government enforced lockdown so they will do anything to keep businesses like that afloat.
However, I don't like Air canada's debt and I think its terrible that the CEO's compensation increased YOY while Air Canada's profits decreased.
I would start buying at 12.00

Oil is undervalued as fuck.

Great Bear Resources is another good one. It's exploration but they have already identified an insane amount of high grade gold. Currently working on a resource estimate

Hey you guys, what is the best way to buy/sell bitcoin in our idiot country? I can't get a straight answer from anybody.
Noah James
buy probably coinbase. sell is through a lot of different websites and loopholes because banks and the gubiment don't like crypto. You're better off having a field day across the border and opening a US bank account for crypto
Caleb Rodriguez
>You're better off having a field day across the border Thanks user, but i think our borders are closed. fml
Christian Jones
i use BitBuy but I am just a holder so I cant say what the best place for selling is.
