More specifically, for smart contracts (and therefore business process automation) to succeed , reliable oracles are needed to provide the same guarantees of reliability and trust that using blockchain provides.. ie end to end trust guarantees for seamless automation. eth can barely handle their own shit, let alone design decentralized oracles. theres probably also the angle of layering in the solution stack, for added security youd seperate the data layer from the SC platform. but, i could be wrong on that.

I envision there to be many oracle networks serving certain purposes but chainlink will take the high profile uses and crap like kleros will verify valueless low risk inputs
