Although I do agree with wholeheartedly, the counter argument would be that he has made enough money (which has increasingly less utility), therefore, he would seek to gain utility from helping others, for instance. Of course, he can not do this for free, so he puts a price on it, that matches what his time is worth on his utility function.

With that being said, I once again will say that 99% of them are crooks and they only make their money due to sheer luck, which they mistakenly think is their own skill. Thus, they hedge themselves by tricking gullible people who don't know any better.

I find it really strange how people are willing to just throw money at someone else with the hopes of being successful. I do dropshipping on the side, its not really super successful, but I make about $1000-$2000/month in profit. My company's instagram is literally constantly flooded with message requests for paid promotion, people wanting to buy premade stores off me (I could probably charge like $800 for this) or people wanting to give me money to "teach them". I dont take it because I really don't want to make a course and become one of those bullshit "get rich quick" scammers.

But ya, people are literally wanting to throw thousands of dollars at people thinking they're somehow going to turn their shitty business around. The funny thing is, they're so clueless that the only information that would actually help them is total base level knowledge you could get from watching youtube videos. So on one hand, yes it is scummy, but on the other hand, people are literally lining up to throw money away at shit like this, so I'm almost indifferent. oh forgot to mention, for every person who asks me to do a paid service, there's at least 10 who want me to give them money to "build my business". They're almost always guys who have never actually built their own businesses and just try to charge people $500-$2000 to access a collection of private youtube videos that just rehash an barely scratch the surface of a bunch of googled psychology, sales, marketing and maybe seo shit. I've never paid for those course thank god, but just look up "consultant course scam" or "guru course scam" or something simillar and see all the horror stories of people who have dumped tens of thousands of dollars into a bullshit cult of personality. The one common theme is that after buying the first course, they try to upsell you on more expensive bullshit like "live, in person events" or "private yaht networking meeting", where they just get a bunch of idiots on a rented boat and convince them all to max out their credit cards. Then they host some fake prerecorded live chats, respond only with buzzwords while trying to pull more people into the sales funnel.
