Yes, Black Swan is better though. Also check out Antifragile

It’s a good read. He basically explains how all “financial experts” are drooling idiots who don’t have a clue what’s going on. He’s got good humor

reading is for faggots

What make Black Swan better? Which one should I start with?

Naw man, the Dao of Capital is where it's at.

Black swan pretty much covers everything in FbR but it has a lot more additional content and expands on many points. You could start with FbR, and skim through the repeat portions in Black Swan, not a bad idea

I've read half of these books. For any similar thinkers I suggest you check out

immediately.

Yes, it's a good introductory work of Arab philosophy.

no. how does it end?

So if you like Nassims books your coin is Kleros?

Based
Also nothing is truly random, you just don’t see the pattern through limitations in perception

Literally got this book in the mail yesterday. Hope it's as good as biz told me.

Reading Taleb is for pseudo-intellectuals

Taleb is a meh public speaker but his books are solid and the facts presented unrefutable.

taleb is based

You should read all of them. Doesn't matter which you start with.

I read Skin in the Game first, then Fooled >Antifragile in typical order.

Black Swan is more fun than Fooled, and Antifragile is more fun than Black Swan.

You should read all of them.

Spoken like an IYI, or maybe just a plain I.

Imbecile

based on what?

based on all accounts

I read today the hedge fund he runs made literaly like 3,000% plus gains recently.

Just fucking shut up please

Yeah, brother is one of these financial experts who's been telling me the market is going to crash every year, for the last 4 years. And when it finally does it's from a surprise event like a pandemic. Hell I've been more right about the market lately than him. Of course he calls my predictions "lucky guesses" while his predictions are wrong only because of unforeseen circumstances, even though I only credit my predictions being right because I think gauging public opinions about fears/hope concerning Corona is the single best indicator we have right now. He completely dismisses that notion and repeats himself how he knows what he's talking about because he has a *insert list of financial schooling credentials*, unable to realize his credentials are only useful if they're used as an accurate predictor

>Reading Taleb is for pseudo-intellectuals

Taleb rails hard on pseudo-intellectuals. If you call him that, it's likely you're one of those people.

The only thing I disagree strongly with him is on IQ.

Tbh you can just read Antifragile and be done with it.

>Named by Fortune
>ONE OF THE SMARTEST BOOKS OF ALL TIME
>SMARTEST
yeah hard pass on that shit

muh dick

Ya I really like most of what he says and his attitude, doesn't seem to just follow whatever is popular. I haven't read any of his books.

His stuff on IQ I'm not sure I can agree with . I've read The Bell Curve. I've seen some papers Taleb has put out on IQ but I'm no math wiz. Just seems like a ton of mathematical rationalization for something obvious.

He did say something about "tinkering" . That he was never good at math until he got involved in trading and it mattered. A boring IQ test doesn't I guess hold enough interest for people to do well. No one said it was 100% accurate or 100% correlation with success or ability, just the best one we have.

Do you have any arguments against his IQ claims?

Cope.

Midwit book

> taleb

Huh? Taleb doesn't give a damn about credentials and isn't in the "predicting" business. For him crashes are inevitable, but you never know when they come exactly. Thus, you try to position yourself in a way, that you profit from them (antifragile) or at least, that you don't lose out too much (robustness). Astonishing how people can misunderstand a brilliant, but straight speaking man so much.

Hmm, might have misread your post as well. I'm the idiot now hehe.

Poorfags like to sit at home reading a book about how rich, successful, popular, energetic, ambitious, SUCCESSFUL wall st types aren't doing anything magical and actually the whole game is a scam circle jerk.

Well, guess what? They know it's a scam circle jerk and that's why they got into the field in the first place. It's like when incels are shocked to discover, at around age 27, that being n i c e to girls doesn't work, and omg Chad is treating her like shit wow big secret.

Everyone knows the game is rigged as fuck and being in the racket is a matter of your social skills and willingness to go along with the charade.

Same goes for a lot of fields. Science is an obvious example. Fraud is rampant, you just stfu and take your share, if you have any sense.

>It's like when incels are shocked to discover, at around age 27, that being n i c e to girls doesn't work, and omg Chad is treating her like shit wow big secret.

Is this something virgins actually discover in their late 20s?

>just the best one we have.

You're right there, IQ is a bad predictor of life success in many areas, but it's also a good predictor in the sense it's the best predictor we have. My issue with Taleb is that he says it's a terrible predictor, and leaves it at that.

Also he's cucked on the reality of Race and IQ, focusing on a few studies and their statistical issues while ignoring the overwhelming piles and piles of supplementary evidence. He also makes the normie mistake of starting off with the notion that race and IQ is majority environmentally driven, where if he looked at it from a blank slate perspective, and investigated the evidence for environment based effects vs heritability, it's just overwhelmingly in favor of the heritable explanation as far as evidence is concerned.

> doesn't understand basic data analysis
> brilliant

If he spoke half as well as the other pop conservative thinkers he would be #1. Unfortunately he comes across like our Zizek when in fact he is our Nietzsche Of Wall Street

Is this was peak male performance looks like?

Imbecile.

>conservative
Does he consider himself to be one? He's harder than most to pigeonhole.

You guys are just making it harder for me to read his books. Should I read or not??

Its so simple it almost doesn't have to be said. It can be put into a 100 page book. Two cliff notes booklets.

He's greek orthodox conservative christian.
do you even have to ask for an options trader bro... what modern progressive speaks positively about ancient western traditions, wisdom and philosophy and against academia. They would be eaten alive by their own if they did that.

I went to the Swedish Investor on YouTube. He breaks down the books. Cliff notes style.

Ryan Faulk completely and utterly exposed Taleb as a total midwit.

t. illiterate nigger

Just downloaded it from libgen.

it's all totally wrong. pseudo scientists that seem to have lot of pseudo intellectual followers

they are free on youtube as audiobooks.

Not anything for nitpickers, fragilistas, IYI's (intellectual yet idiot), BS-vendors, charlatans or gymrats. Gabish?

A pillar of sanity in a sea of retardedness. Of course retards will have the inverted perspective.
Yes his stance on IQ is meh, but he's from a minority group so this cope is understandable.

bump

Samefagging nigger fuck off. You missed the boat to shill your pump and dump project 3 years ago.

Must be hard to have a brainlet brother with a big ego..

No but I read black swan and antifragile and im pretty suee he repets himself a lot so im good

He doesn't say it's a terrible predictor. He says it's a good predictor for retardation.

But a bad predictor for higher IQ.

Very good book as well

Intellectuel, schmintellectuel. Taleb don't care about sounding smart, therefore is not a pseud
